If the installation does not start, you should manually initiate it: A. Open Windows Explorer B. Browse to the root of the CD C. Launch the file setup.exe by double-clicking on it. ** B *Upgrading to Bluetooth Software Suite 1.09 from a previous version* If you already own an older version of BTSWS and wants to upgrade to 1.09 then you have 2 options: 1. You can uninstall the older version and run this installation, or... 2. Run the new installation: The older version will be detected and you will have the option to choose between manual or automatic un-install. 2a. Selecting "Manual" just exits the installer. 2b. Selecting "Automatically" uninstall the older version. When the uninstall is complete, select "NO" to reboot. The installer will then complete the installation of BTSWS 1.09. ** C *Upgrading drivers for Bluetooth devices.* 1. Extract the files to a temporary location, for example c:\temp. This will extract the following subdirectories and files. \2000 \9x \NT4 readme.txt 2. On Windows 9x/ME and 2000, driver updates can be performed from the Device Manager. Locate the related (Bluetooth) devices in the device list, right-click and select "Properties". From the Driver tab select "Update Driver". Windows will prompt for the location of the new drivers. 3. Point to the location where you extracted the drivers to (see step 1, above). 4. Repeat this process for Bluetooth related device. 5. On Windows 2000 and Windows XP, you will be notified that the Bluetooth Ethernet driver is unsigned. This is normal (This driver is currently going through the process of being WHQL-tested and signed). NOTE: On Windows NT4 there is no formal method for updating drivers, so after having stopped the PCMCIA card, simply copy all the .sys files from the NT4 directory (see #1 above) into the %WINNT%\System32\Drivers directory. You should overwrite all duplicate drivers that Windows NT4 asks you about. ** D *Firmware upgrading your Bluetooth USB dongle* Firmware for the Bluetooth USB dongle is resident in the device and therefore must be manually updated using the enclosed dgabtUsbFlash.exe program. This program works on both Windows 9x and 2000. After having applied the drivers for the device, run dgabtUsbFlash to upgrade your Bluetooth USB dongle with the new firmware. The dgabtUsbFlash.exe file is distributed with the drivers, so you can find it in the root of the directory you extracted the files to (see step 1, above). NOTE: Do NOT attempt to upgrade any other Bluetooth USB dongles than models that are clearly marked "Digianswer", with this upgrade program. It may overwrite the flash prom in a non-Digianswer product, rendering it useless. ** E *Technical Support* If you have trouble with installing or upgrading, please read our FAQ located at: http://btsws.digianswer.com If you are still unsuccesful in installing/upgrading, you can contact Digianswer Technical Support at: mailto://support@digianswer.comDownload Driver Pack
