Loading the Driver Package This file contains instructions for loading a driver package on your VINES 6.x, 7.x & 8.x Server. Instructions for Loading the Driver Package 1. Place a DOS-formatted, 1.44 MB diskette in the diskette drive of the client workstation where you downloaded Drvxxx.exe. 2. Go to the directory you down loaded the driver to and run the exicutable DRVxxx.exe. (DRVxxx is the Driver name) This will decompress the zip files, that contain this instruction file, the Readme file, the driver package, makedsks.bat and DSKIMAGE.EXE. Then run the file makedsks.bat, this will copy the driver image to the diskette in the a: drive of you workstation. 3. Take the diskette with the driver image to the server. 4. From the server Operator Menu, select 10. System Maintenance, select 6. Configure/Diagnose server, and then select 8. Install/Remove Communications Drivers. 5. Press Enter. 6. Insert the diskette into the server diskette drive when prompted. Press Enter. Remove the diskette from the server diskette drive when prompted. Press Enter, then press Enter again to continue driver installation. 7. Select INSTALL a driver from the Install/Remove Driver screen. 8. Select Intel EtherExpress PRO/100B PCI 1.0.1 9. Select SAVE Configuration and exit. You can now configure the card from the Add Cards/Change Card Configuration menu. See the Server Installation Guide for details. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
