Adaptec U320 Integrated SCSI Drivers

Updating the Adaptec Driver from within Windows XP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------


1. From Device Manager right click on the "Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI Adapter" and then choose 'Properties'. 

2. Click on the 'Driver' tab, click 'Update Driver' and then click on the 'Next' button.

3. From the next screen click on 'Display a list of the known drivers for this device...' and then the 'Next' button.

4. Click the 'Have Disk' button and type "a:\win32" in the 'Copy Manufacturer's files from:' drop down menu and choose 'OK'.

5. Choose the "Adaptec HostRAID U320 Driver Ver 2.00 For Windows 2000/XP/2003" from the list and choose 'Next'.  From the next screen choose 'Next' again.

6. Choose 'Finish' to complete the installation and restart system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
