Extract the downloaded zipped files to a local folder. 

The Dell System Bus driver for Netware (Dellsbd.nlm) is included in this zip file.  The System Bus driver lets you to hot swap a supported PCI adapter on Dell PE 4400, PE 4600, PE 63XX, PE 64XX, and PE 66XX systems running Netware 5.1 and 6.0 (6.5 is not supported).  Please note that hot add is not supported.

To install Dellsbd please follow the steps below:

1- Save dellsbd.nlm  to a local folder (i.e. c:\temp\dell)
2- From the system console type: load c:\temp\dell\dellsbd.nlm
3- Load NCMCON.nlm

Note: Load DCDIOMGR.NLM,DCESM.NLM,and DCHAPI32.NLM only if you have older versions of these files installed on your systems (from the Dell Open Manage Applications CD) or have none installed.  If you have newer versions of these files, then load dellsbd.nlm only.

Note: You can hot swap adapters only if the acpica.nlm and acpidrv.psm are not loaded.  Hot plug is not supported on systems with hyperthreading at this time.  For NW 6.5 please use ACPISBD.NLM.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
