                BDE ORACLE 8 DRIVER UPDATE 1 
                 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

This updated BDE SQL link driver for Oracle 8 fixes the 
following problem:


AUTOCOMMIT
----------

Explicit transaction rollback will rollback all the 
inserts/updates/deletes done prior to the start of the 
transaction.   This is NOT expected behavior.



INSTALLATION
===========================================================

  a. Make sure that any BDE applications are closed and 
     BDE is not running.
  b. Unzip the file, sqlora8.zip, to a local temporary 
     directory.
  c. Copy the unzipped file, sqlora8.dll, dated 9/17/99, 
     to your BDE directory,  typically 

         c:\Program Files\Borland\Common Files\BDE

     replacing the existing sqlora8.dll file, dated 6/21/99

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
