Initial delay at the startup is eliminated now since PcommServer does not try to communicate to all configured devices at the startup. Further, a lot of effort was made to improve the performance of USB and Ethernet communication. . USB Unplug event works much better than the Pewin32PRO version. . Ethernet connect is improved considerably. In case of device not connected the initial timeout is reduced to less than 4 seconds. . The Ethernet device configuration in the Pewin32Pro2 is made simple now. For a pre-configured Ethernet based PMAC, ETHConfigure / EthUSBConfigure are no longer required. These applications are only needed if the IP address is unknown or communication CAN NOT be established at the default IP address of (192.6.94.5). See the Delta Tau's driver installation instructions "DT Driver_Install.pdf" for details. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ******************** Pewin32PRO2 FEATURES *********************** \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ . Pewin32Pro2 is completely recompiled to communicate directly to PComm32Server's COM Interface using VCL and latest software tools. Borland CBuilder 6.0 is used as the platform for development. PCommServer and other Ring zero drivers are compiled using Microsoft .NET C++ 7.0. In addition to all of the Pewin32Pro's previous features, including Color editor, with PLC debugger, versatile watch and position windows and smart terminal window. various variable configuration menus, particularly the P,Q,M and I-variables, have been improved a lot for added features, as uploads, download and refresh etc. . The Worksapce is fully functional along with project management capability. Workspaceis saved in an INI file. The default workspace file Pewin32Pro2_Default.INI is stored in the application folder. Name and location cane be changed at any time. This workspace file keeps tarck of all the open forms including their sizes, device association, update rate, state at the close of pervious session, and other related parameters as color, font and units and scales. Workspace can be edited outside the application for desired changes. . Project manager is yet another added feature of Pewin32Pro2. It allows for multiple files to be associated with a project (essentially associated with any one PMAC). Please browse for detailed project features. . Terminal is made smart to correctly keep track of previous commands. Status screens are modified to display the exact register and bit numbers for each item. . Choice of PMACSelect in each form is a feature that is very useful for expert users. It increases the versatility of the program. This allows for selection of any available device for any form with the need for a Terminal to be open. Further, the update period is selectable for most of the forms. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ************************ NEW FEATURES ADDED ********************* \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Minor changes from Pewin32Pro to Pewin32Pro2 . All interrupts received from the PMAC are handled by event handle in the TPmac class and are listed in the Interrupt monitor tab in the main MessageFrame. Interrupts are still initiated in the Terminal screen. Once initialized, all received interrupts are displayed in the Interrupt monitor tab of the main MessageFrame. . Unsolicited response are also displayed in the Unsolicited response Tab of the main MessageFrame. The option to display the Unsolicited response and frequency to check them is configured in the General Setup and Options' "View" tab. . Now Pewin32Pro2 can poll every PMAC opened in Terminal and saves the basic info in a Log file PewinSessionLog.txt (saved in the application folder). This is done to monitor any error that may come across during that session, e.g., watchdog tripping, Communication timeout etc. This option can be enabled and time interval can be set in the in the General Setup and Options' "View" tab. New screens added: 1.Modbus configure window: This screen allows to configure/reconfigure modbus for PMACs the Modbus option present. Modbus option is available on request on new UMACs (version 1.940 and later and on newer GeoPMACs. Modbus require a USB or Ethernet mode of communication. While basic configuration can be done via Serial/ISA/PCI, the counters cand Client Server configuration require USB/Ethernet mode of communication. See Pewin32Pro2 manual for detailed description. Modbus setup screen is available form the configure menu. 2.MACRORingOrder is yet another configuruation screen designed to initiate the MACRO Ring ASCII communication bewteen the Ring Controller and other Slave stations and/or secondary Masters/Slaves. This screen allows to setup Ring Controller, detect or reinitialize all other stations on the Ring, sets up all the commincation parametes, saves these parameters in a file and can start/stop MACRO Ring ASCII communication to any station on the Ring. See Pewin32Pro2 manaul for details. This screen is also available at the end of Configure menu. 3.C.S. Axis Jog: At the request of one of our customer, this screen has been added in the view menu. This screen has CS definitions and can Jog an axis in both absolute as well as incremental mode using the command !X where X is the defined Axis in a given C.S. This screen is abalable for Turbo PMACs only. It parameters as same as Jog Ribbon for a specific motor. 4.PMAC CPU Resources: Like C.S. Axis Jog, this screen is also available for Turbo PMACs only. This screen can be launched from PMAC resources menu and it lists different frequencies of the PMAC along with its Firmware version and CPU type. This is a standard MDIChildThread form and polls PMAC on the specified interval for different Foregroung Tasks. Three FG task categories include Phase Tasks, Servo Tasks and RTI Tasks. Details of all of the FG tasks are available from the specific buttons. 5.Memory resources: This screen lists special Memory registers in all PMACs and lists then in the order they are stored in the PMAC memory. The special memory registers include Gather buffer, User buffer, Rotary program buffer, Lookahead buffer and different Comp tables buffers. This screen can be launced from PMAC resources menu. 6.Frequncy calculators: Frequency calculators are available for PMAC2 style (Turbo or Non-Turbo) boards. This can calculate Hardware Clock, Servo Frequency, PFM for Steppers and I^2T parameters for a specific motor. This screen is abailable under the PMAC resources menu. 7.Test DPRAM: DPRAM test is now a part of Pewin32Pro2 main application. It is available under Tools menu. 8.Under Tools menu there are three additions applications. a) Basic Speed Test provides Benchmark times for Delta Tau Drivers for all modes of communication. b) RawTerminal is degined for diagnostic purpose and returns the raw data from the PMACs and displays it in the its screen. Both applications support download file as well events generated by PcommServer. c) Geo Brick Setup sets up the Geo Brick. 9.Driver installation and troubleshooting prcedure has changed. Please read the Driver Installation notes from the Help menu for details. 10.In the help menu two links provided: a) The first link (Bug Reporting) is meant for reporting software bugs, e.g., issues related to communication to PMAC and other software applications related issues. b) The second link (Technical Support) is meant for general Delta Tau products related questions and connects the user to Delta Tau main support website. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ************************ KNOWN BUGS ***************************** \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ *************** Wish List ****************** *************** Bug Fixes ******************Download Driver Pack
