   A. README.TXT      Presents a summary of the contents for SCO OpenServer 
                      Version 5 driver installation.

2. Driver Installation for SCO OpenServer Version 5
---------------------------------------------------
  This document explains how to install IC Plus IP100 Fast Ethernet 
Adapter in SCO OpenServer Version 5 syetem. This follows the procedures in 
"Installing and Managing software components"[custom(ADM)] and "Configuring 
network connections"[netconfig(ADM)] in SCO OpenServer Handbook.

A. Server Requirements:
   A PC with SCO OpenServer Version 5 and IC Plus IP100-based Fast Ethernet
   Adapter. We need IC Plus IP100 Fast Ethernet Adapter SCO OpenServer 5 
   MDI Network Driver "ipf.vol".

B. Install IP100 network adapter with SCO OpenServer 5 Driver software 
   component:[custom(ADM)]
   B.1 Copy our "ipf.vol" to SCO5 system "/tmp" from floppy. 
       e.g [doscp a:ipf.vol /tmp]
   B.2 Rename "ipf.vol" to "VOL.000.000".
       e.g [cp ipf.vol VOL.000.000]
   B.3 Run "custom" will show "Software Management(custom) on machine1", where
       'machine1' is your SCO5 system's name.
       Choose [Software]->[Install New...]->[From Machine1]->[Media Device: 
       Media Images]->[Image Directory: /tmp]-> Install...

C. Configure Network configuration:[netconfig(ADM)]
   C.1 Run "netconfig" for "Network Configuration Manager".
   C.2 Choose [Hardware]->[Add new LAN adapter]->
       [IC Plus IP100 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter]->
       [ choose LinkSpeed to Auto] ->[SCO TCP/IP]
       # Local Host name        : machine1
       # IP Address             : 192.168.1.1
       # Netmask                : 255.255.255.0
       # Broadcast Address      : 192.168.1.255
       # Domain name            :
       # TCP Connections        : 1024
       # Pseudo ttys            : 64
      *# Advanced Options->[GW] : Yes
  *C.3 Add another adapter to SCO Server. 
       Choose [Hardware]->[Add new LAN adapter]->
       [IC Plus IP100 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter]->
       [ choose LinkSpeed to Auto] ->[SCO TCP/IP]
       # Local Host name        : machine2
       # IP Address             : 192.168.2.1
       # Netmask                : 255.255.255.0
       # Broadcast Address      : 192.168.2.255
       # Domain name            :
       # TCP Connections        : 1024
       # Pseudo ttys            : 64 
      *# Advanced Options->[GW] : Yes       
   C.4 Exit the manager and reboot the system to make the configuration take
       effect.
   Note [*]: Optional for configure the second adapter for SCO Server and 
             Server become a Router.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
