Filename       Description

IPFRPL.ROM     RPL BootROM for both NIC (Network Interface Card) and LOM 
               (LAN On MotherBoard).
               This file is RPL boot ROM image. You can use this image to boot
               your computer without floppy and hard disk.

2. RPL Installation
-------------------

     ** Setup Server **
          a. Prepare a disk for generating boot image in the server
             The following files (see a1 and a2) are necessary in the boot disk. 
             Noting that boot disk must be created at pure dos, can't use win98 or 
             latter OS to create.

          a1.Boot Disk Image need:
             Part I: for dos booting
             ---------------------
             COMMAND.COM
             IO.SYS    -->run   attrib -s -h io.sys  under command prompt to reveal it
             MSDOS.SYS -->run   attrib -s -h msdos.sys under command prompt to reveal it
             AUTOEXEC.BAT
             CONFIG.SYS

             Part II: for install driver and attach the server

          a2.The recommended lines in file AUTOEXEC.BAT

          b: Create boot image and bind RPL protocol in the Netware Server
             b1. Login in the server from client with a floppy drive.
             b2. Change directory to SYS\SYSTEM.
             b3. Insert the boot disk in driver A:, and  execute the key in 'DOSGEN'.
                 This procedure creates a DOS boot image file named NET$DOS.SYS.
             b4. Copy NET$DOS.SYS to the SYS\LOGIN directory.
             b5. Copy following files to SYS\LOGIN directory.

                 COMMAND.COM
                 IO.SYS
                 MSDOS.SYS

             b6. key in "load install" (or "nwconfig") under server prompt to Edit 
                 the AUTOEXEC.NCF file. For example: if IPGSRV was the network adaptor 
                 driver of the NetWare Server

              b7. ReBoot the NetWare Server.

    ** Boot Process **
         a. Boot Novell server to ready for RPL.
         b. Client computer power on.
         c. Boot the client with BootROM on the Adapter.
         d. Using RPL protocol to search and find Novell RPL server.
         e. Download boot disk image form server to client memory.
         f. After download finish, boot the image.
         g. Search and touch novell server.
         h. login into server.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
