EPSON ® Scanner Installation for Windows ® 2000

1. Download the Twain Driver, and double click on the file to extract the files.
2. The files will extract to the default location of C:\EPSON\TWAINWIN2K340A
3. Shutdown and turn off your computer.
4. Make sure your scanner and computer are both off.
5. Connect your scanner to your computer.
6. Turn on the scanner first, then turn on your computer.
7. After Windows 2000 starts, it detects your scanner. Click Next when
   you see the found new hardware dialog box.

8. Select Search for a suitable driver for my device, then click Next.
9. Select Specify a location, then click Next.
 
10. Browse to the location where you downloaded and extracted the TWAIN file, 
    then click OK.

11. Follow the instructions on screen. When the following dialog box appears,
    click Yes to continue.

12. At the end of the installation, the Screen Calibration utility starts.
    Move the slider to the right or left until the shades of the horizontal 
    gray stripes appear similar (they will not perfectly blend together; however,
    try to make the two match as closely as possible). Then click OK.

13. When the completing new hardware dialog box appears, click Finish.

14. If a dialog box asking you to restart your computer appears, click 
    Yes to restart your computer.

15. If your scanner has a Start button and you want to use it for one-touch scanning,
    make sure your scanner is the default scanner in the Device Manager. 
    Go to My Computer > Control Panel > Scanners and Cameras. Double-click your
    scanner name. Click the Utility tab. Make sure the Select as default scanner for EPSON
    TWAIN box is selected, then click OK.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
