1) INSTALLATION GUIDE
=====================

Below are guidelines for installing the server driver, EN32VL.LAN,
in a NetWare v4.10 environment.

1. In the NetWare v4.10 directory, run SERVER.EXE.

2. At the NetWare prompt, run INSTALL.NLM by typing:

	   : LOAD INSTALL <Enter>

3. Select "Driver options".

4. Go to "Configure network drivers" and "Select a driver".
Press <Insert> to load a LAN driver not listed.

5. Press <F3> to specify the directory path of the LAN
    driver (e.g. A:\NW4.10).
"Compex ENET32-VL Server Driver v1.20" will be displayed.
Press <Enter> to select the driver to be copied into the
    system directory.

6. The LAN driver will then be loaded and bound to an IPX number.

    NOTE:
Upon loading EN32VL.LAN, two other modules will be loaded
automatically: MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM. These two files have
already been included in the NetWare v4.10 server.

7. To install the server driver without loading it manually from the driver
diskette each time the NetWare server is started, follow the steps below.

At the server console, edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF by typing:

		: LOAD INSTALL <Enter>

Select "NCF files options" and "Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF file". Add these lines.

		LOAD EN32VL
		BIND IPX EN32VL NET=number

Note that you may add additional command line options to use
       different cable and frame types.
The server driver will now be loaded automatically when the server is
       started.

2) COMMAND LINE OPTIONS
=======================

If you choose to load the server driver from the command line
instead of from the INSTALL.NLM program, then you may need to
specify command line options. Apart from the standard command
of FRAME, etc, the server driver provides additional command
line options.

    1 BOARD

This option selects the adapter on the system. The valid values
are 1 - 99. It has to be used together with the FRAME keyword if
multiple frames need to be loaded. To load multiple frames, the
BOARD keyword has to be specified during the first and subsequent
       loading of the driver.

For example, to load multiple frame types for one physical ENET32-VL
adapter, the following should be entered:

	    LOAD EN32VL FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 BOARD=1 <enter>
	    LOAD EN32VL FRAME=Ethernet_802.3 BOARD=1 <enter>
	    LOAD EN32VL FRAME=Ethernet_II BOARD=1 <enter>
	    LOAD EN32VL FRAME=Ethernet_SNAP BOARD=1 <enter>

The driver must then be binded to the IPX protocol for each frame
       type.

Note: The BOARD keyword is not to be mistaken with the standard
PORT keyword which selects the physical adapter on the system
	     by specifying the I/O address.

    2. TP

This option is used to set the cable type to Twisted Pair
without performing any auto-detection of cable type.
