What You Need

To upgrade your modem, download the flasher file, and have your Diamond modem installed on your computer. If you have an external modem, make sure it is on.

NOTE: If you find parts of these instructions confusing or lacking information, and have suggestions about how to remedy the text, send your comments to us at manuals@supra.com.


How to Update Your Modem in Windows

There are 2 steps to upgrading your modem. The details of each step are listed in the sections below. 
1.	Download and open the flasher and driver file.
2.	Flash your modem.


Downloading and Opening the Flasher and Driver File

1.	Download the file.
2.	Double-click the file to extract the archive, and remember where you’ve placed the files.


Updating Your Modem

1.	Exit any software that may be using your modem, for example, fax software.
2.	Double-click the flasher file (.exe) you just extracted.
3.	If you know which COM port your modem is on, select it.
If you don’t know which COM port your modem is on, click Search and the flasher will find your modem.
4.	Click the Upgrade button.
You’ll see a thermometer showing progress as the flasher is updating your modem. You’ll be able to tell when the flasher is finished. You may see some cryptic-looking commands like ATFW or OK.
5.	Click Quit
It's not necessary to reinstall your modem with the new .inf file. The updated .inf has only been included for reference.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
