No Comments... Subj: Feedback Date: 5-2-1997 From: WJChais To: axcel216 I've been waiting for 7 years for just such a "treasure trove" of information. Your tips & tricks which I have shared with my class (I teach HS) enabled one of my students to land a very good job in the MIS division of a small, local company. She just impressed the hell right out of them. Thanks to you, this only child of a single parent will have a chance in life. Keep up the good work. Wayne Subj: Re: Feedback Date: 5-4-1997 From: axcel216 To: WJChais Wayne, I was deeply moved by your story. I am very happy somebody did benefit at such a great extent from browsing through my files. I'm sure this person is a very gifted student, did her homework and that you are an excellent teacher, and that I don't hold a major part in her success, my tips could not have been of much use to someone who didn't know how to apply them. Please send my best wishes to your entire class, and especially to the fortunate student. Please feel free to check my web site on a regular basis for updates: http://members.aol.com/axcel216/ Pending your permission I'd like to have the privilege of adding your letter to my files. Thanks a lot in advance. George Subj: Re: Feedback Date: 5-5-1997 From: WJChais To: axcel216 George, You certainly have my permission to use my letter. Thank you very much for your kind reply. I was just thinking that it's too bad that you are not the author of some of the multitude of "Help" books and software manuals which are on the market. If I had one wish, it would be that I had the time (and an "angel") so that I could write (perhaps "re-write" would be a more appropriate term) some of these Help manuals. Don't these cyber-authors have any footing in reality? To twist the words of some anonymous anti-educator pundit: "Those who can, do and those who can't, write Help manuals". Keep up the good work. Wayne Subj: Re: Feedback Date: 5-7-1997 From: axcel216 To: WJChais Wayne, Your compliments are greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your insight. I am only a PC user that made a hobby out of this (making my computing life easier, and coping with our "beloved" every day Windows/DOS annoyances), so most of the stuff I put together in these files comes from my personal experience dealing with "Wintel" computers for over 5 years. I have had others telling me I should write a book on this matter, but since my day job (not computer related) keeps me busy enough, I can't seem to find time for such an enterprise. Maybe some day... :) BTW, answering email is also time consuming, but I'm always glad to help (I remember how helpless I've felt in my early computing days). And I always welcome ideas, tips, comments to improve my tips files so everybody can get help with this annoying, every day computing business. Feels good to be able to make a difference, a feeling you probably experience every day. Best wishes and keep up the good teaching. GeorgeDownload Driver Pack
