3Com Corporation Network Drivers Installation Notes Microsoft LAN Manager versions 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 ------------------------------------------------ The EtherDisk diskette contains a subdirectory structure and files that make it an OEM import disk for the LAN Manager installer. Use the import function of the LAN Manager installer to capture the NDIS driver from the EtherDisk diskette. Be sure to save the new configuration before exiting the installer. DOS installation with Lan Manager 2.2 ------------------------------------- The following describes the procedure for importing the driver during installation of Lan Manager 2.2 for DOS. 1. Begin the MS-DOS Lan Manager installation by inserting the MS-DOS Setup diskette and typing A:SETUP. 2. After reading the Microsoft Drivers 1 diskette, a window is displayed showing available Network Adapter Drivers. In this window choose the following function: Select Other Driver (Alt-D) 3. When prompted to insert your network driver diskette, insert the EtherDisk. 4. After the driver is imported from the EtherDisk, a box will be displayed showing the driver. Select the EtherLink III LAN + Modem PC Card driver. 5. Continue with the remainder of the installation by next selecting a protocol to use with the EtherLink III LAN + Modem PC Card driver. ========================================================= SYSTEM.INI information ======================= In order for the modem to function correctly in MS Windows, add the following commands to your Window's SYSTEM.INI file under the [386Enh] category: (In case they are not there already) [386Enh] : : COM1Base=3F8 COM1Irq=4 COM2Base=2F8 COM2Irq=3 COM3Base=3E8 COM3Irq=4 COM4Base=2E8 COM4Irq=3 ========================================================= ========================================================= Please Note ============ Although the driver name is ELPC3X.DOS, the internal driver name (used in PROTOCOL.INI) is ELPC3$ ========================================================= (%VER NDIS - MS LAN Manager v2.0d)Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
