New Hardware Found ¡V D-Link USB Serial Port <-> Serial Port Installation of COM port and serial port is now complete. To verify installation, look at My Computer -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager ¡V check View by devices by connection Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS -> PCI bus -> PCI to USB Universal Host Controller -> USB Root Hub -> Generic USB Hub -> D-Link DU-H4SMK -> D-Link USB Serial Port <-> Serial Port (COMx) Alternatively - check View devices by type Ports (COM & LPT) -> D-Link USB Serial Port <-> Serial Port (COMx) Plug USB to serial cable into modem Select My Computer -> Control Panel -> Modems ¡V select [Add] Checks each COM port from Install New Modem screen, found new modem, [Next] Windows has found new modem etc ¡V [Finish] Note if the system has a .INF file for the modem of choice then Windows will complete plug and play interrogation of the modem and configure it as required, otherwise the modem will be installed as a standard modem. To test the modem select Diagnostics from the Modem Properties screen and select Diagnostics, followed by selecting the appropriate modem and checking [More info]. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
