FAQ:
Q1. How to change the version for this setup program ?
A1. This setup program will display the version number according
    to the file time of the setup.exe.

    Assume the file time is hh:mm:ss,
    1. General version format is : "Version hh.mm".
       In general case, ss is useless. 

    2. If hh > 12, it will display as "BETA ss".
       Where ss is as same as the file time.

Q2. What is the purpose of files VIADELXX.INF ?
A2. Those files are used for uninstall driver.

    When user uninstall the driver, this setup program will
    copy the associated VIADELXX.INF into WINDIR\INF and
    modify the hardware id in VIADELXX.INF to complete match
    the current machine. After click the "Finish" button,
    setup program will trigger a ReEnumerate and install
    a "no driver" driver for audio controller.

Q3. How about silent install ?
A3. You can perform "Silent Install" in the DOS box by specific
    parameter "-s".

    There are other parameters can be used for "Silent Install".
    "-wdm" : Allow you to install WDM driver under Windows 98.
    "-vxd" : Allow you to install VXD driver under Windows 98SE.
    "-b"   : This parameter will causes OS reboot after setup.
    "-u -s": Perform a "Silent Uninstall".
    "-s"   : Perform a "Silent Install".

Q4. Why the Device Manager will ask me to search the driver when
    I install the WDM driver on Windows 98 ?
A4. It is caused by the SUBSYS in INF file does not completely
    match with your machine.

Q5. Why the setup program can't work correctly but it works perfectly
    before ?
A5. It may caused by the system in an unstable condition or caused
    by the registry has some error.
    You can remove the VIA Audio Controller from the DEVICE MANAGER
    and reboot your machine.

Q6. What is the message of "Audio not enable or removed" ?
A6. It is caused by the user who removed the "VIA Audio Controller" 
    from the DEVICE MANAGER or the audio controller doesn't enable
    from the BIOS.
    You can click the "Refresh" button from the DEVICE MANAGER or
    check your BIOS setting.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
