IBM TrackPoint Support for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 
=======================================================
     
This software is intended for use with the IBM PS/2 TrackPoint, 
version 4.0. or later. For earlier versions, no special software 
is needed. 

Copy all the files associated with this driver to a freshly formatted 3.5
inch floppy.  Insert the floppy into the A: drive of your OmniBook and
perform the following procedure.
     
 1. If it has been installed, remove the touch pad driver. 
     
 2. From the Start menu, shut down, then restart the OmniBook.
     
 3. When you see the HP logo, press F2 to enter the BIOS Setup utility.
     
 4. From the System Devices menu, check Internal Pointing Devices and 
    select Pointing Stick or both.
     
 6. Press F10 to Save and Exit the BIOS Setup utility.
     
 7. Reset the OmniBook.
     
 8. Windows 95 and Windows NT:

    To install pointing stick support for Windows 95 and Windows NT:
    from Control Panel open the Mouse applet, select the General tab
    sheet, select Change, select Have Disk and point to the A: drive.
    Select the IBM PS/2 Trackpoint driver and press OK. Close the Mouse
    Properties dialog, remove the floppy disk from drive A: and restart
    the OmniBook.

    Windows 98:

    To install pointing stick support for Windows 98: from Control Panel 
    open the System applet, select the Device Manager tab sheet, display the 
    Properties sheet of the current mouse device, select the Driver tab sheet, 
    select Update Driver, select 'Display drivers in a specific location', select 
    Have Disk and choose the A: drive. Press OK and select the IBM PS/2 Trackpoint 
    driver. Follow the prompts to copy the new driver files from the A: drive, and
    restart the OmniBook when prompted.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
