* ALI Fast Infrared Controller Driver for Windows 98 Diskette
Include 4 files : ALiFir.inf, ALiFir.sys, setup.exe, Readme.txt
* Microsoft Windows 98 CD
Installation:

How to Install the Driver for the First Time
-------------------------------------------------
1. Insert the driver diskette into floppy.
2. Execute the driver setup program "Setup.exe".
3. When the Add New Hardware Wizard show up, click "Next".
4. The Windows will search the PNP device in your system.
To continue, click "Next".
5. Choose the "ALi Fast Infrared Controller" in the device list, click "Next".
6. The next dialog, click "Finish". Then the "ALi Fast Infrared Controller Properties"
will show up.
7. Click the "Reinstall Driver" Button.
8. Then it will pop up a 'Update Device Driver Wizard' dialog, click "Next".
9. Next dialog, Choose "Search for a better driver...." option, click "Next".
10. The Next Dialog, "Specify a location", for example, a:\win98, this is where the driver
located. When ready, click "Next".
11. The Windows will show the device "Ali Fast Infrared Controller", and the .inf file location.
Put your Windows 98 CD into the cdrom. Click "Next".
12. Windows will copy file from diskette and CD into harddisk.
13. Click "Finish", remove the diskette from floppy and restart the computer.

How to Update the Driver for a New Version Driver
------------------------------------------------------
1. Insert the Infrared driver Installation diskette into floppy.
2. Follow the path to find the device
\\My Computer\\Control Panel\\System\\Device Manager\\Network Adapter
\\Ali Fast Infrared Controller
3. Click the "Properity" Button, when the "Properties" dialog popup, choose the "Driver" Tab.
4. Click the "Update Driver".
5. Then it will pop up a 'Update Device Driver Wizard' dialog, click "Next".
6. Next dialog, Choose "Search for a better driver...." option, click "Next".
7. The Next Dialog, "Specify a location", for example, a:\win98, this is where the driver
located. When ready, click "Next".
8. Next dialog choose the 'Install one of the other drivers' option, click "View List" button.
Select the right driver in the list, then click "OK" to back to previos dialog, then click "Next".
9. The Windows will show the device "Ali Fast Infrared Controller", and the .inf file location.
Put your Windows 98 CD into the cdrom. Click "Next".
10. Windows will copy file from diskette and CD into harddisk.
11. Click "Finish", remove the diskette from floppy and restart the computer.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
