Installation of the Siemens Nixdorf Smart Card Readers
-------------------------------------------------------------
Read the instructions below how to start the installation files for
the Siemens Nixdorf Smart Card Reader Handlers (device drivers)
for a specifc reader, under the system your PC is running on.
When running Windows NT make sure that you are logged on as
an administrator during the installation process.
We suggest that you install the Smart Card Readers at the same time
as you install the Microsoft Win32 Smart Card Base Components (the
Smart Card Resource Manager Service). Then you must reboot your system
only once.
Download the Microsoft Win32 Smart Card Base Components from
http://www.microsoft.com/security/tech/scards/scarddl.htm or take their
setup program from disk #3 'Smart Card Base Components'.
Installation of the Keyboard Reader Handler
for Windows NT version 4
------------------------------------------------
- Start the ServerStart application and select:
Driver Installation
--> SICRYPT Smart Card Reader
OR
- Change to the directory "A:\WINNT4\Kbd_drv"
- Call "setupkbd" or install via "snikbscr.inf"
(context menu - install)
- Remove the floppy disk from the disk drive
- Restart Windows NT
Installation of the Serial Reader Handler
for Windows NT version 4

- Start the ServerStart application and select:
Driver Installation
--> SICRYPT Smart Card Reader
OR
- Change to the directory "A:\WINNT4\Ser_drv"
- Call "setupser" or install via "snisrscr.inf" (context menu - install)
- Remove the floppy disk from the disk drive
- Restart Windows NT
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
