Notes for the PROdot 450L printer driver


On this disk you will find printer drivers for MS-Windows 3.1/3.11, MS-Windows 95, and MS-Windows NT 3.51, and IBM OS/2 Warp 3.0. 
Also you will find a SETUP-program to change various kinds of the printer functions settings. 
Additionally you will find a DEMO-program, showing all special functions of the printer. And there are sample documents (MS-Write and MS-Winword 6), showing how the windows-passbook-driver works.


MS Windows 3.x - driver

You will find the Windows 3.1/311 driver in the directories named WIN.xxx. The windows-driver is available in several languages. The different languages of the driver can be found in the following directories:

	WIN.USA		English
	WIN.FRN		French
	WIN.GER		German
	WIN.ITN		Italian
	WIN.SPA		Spanish
	WIN.DUT		Dutch


Installation

Please use the control panel in the main-group to install and setup your windows-driver:
	1.	Open the main group
	2.	Start the program "Control Panel".
	3.	Select the printer icon.
	4.	Choose the "Add>>" - button.
	5.	In the List Of Printers box, select Install Unlisted Or Updated Printer.
	6.	Choose the "Install" - button.
	7.	Insert your driver-disk. Type your drive and the directory of the language you require.
		Example:	A:\WIN.GER
	8.	Choose the OK button.
	9.	In the List Of Printer box, select the printer driver you need.
	10.	Choose the OK button.
	11.	Choose the "Set As Default Printer" button.
		If you want to configure the driver choose the "Setup" - button.
	12.	Choose the "Close" - button.

MS Windows NT 3.51 - driver

You will find the Windows NT driver in the directory named WINNT.351.

Installation

Please start the Print Manager in the main group or choose the printer icon of the control panel.
	1.	Choose the "Create Printer" - button.
	2.	For the further installation please refer to the installation of MS-Windows 3.x printer driver.
	3.	At the end you must create your own printer name to choose the driver to your system.

MS Windows95 - driver

You will find the Windows95 driver in the directory named WIN95.

Installation

	1.	Choose the "Start" - button.
	2.	Choose the "Settings" - menu.
	3.	Choose the "Printer"	button.
	4.	Double click on the "Add Printer" - icon.
	5.	Click on the "Next" - button.
	6.	Choose the "Have Disk..." -button.
	7.	Insert your driver-disk. Type your drive and the directory of Windows95.
		Example:	A:\WIN95
	8.	Choose the OK button.
	9.	Select the printer driver you need.
	10.	Click on the "Next" - button.
	11.	Follow the instructions of the setup program.

IBM - OS/2 Warp

You will find the IBM-OS/2 driver in the directory named OS2_WARP.V3.


Installation

	1.	Choose the DISK-drive icon of the Launch Pad.
	2.	Double-click the folder "OS2_WARP.V3"
	3.	Double-click the printer icon.
	4.	Pick up the printer icon you need and place it on your desktop.
	5.	Click with right mouse button on the printer icon.
	6.	Select the printer as DEFAULT printer.
		Choose the settings button (-> printer driver; -> job properties) to configure the driver.

SETUP - utility

With the SETUP-program you can change various kinds of values of the printer menu settings. The SETUP-program has the same functions as the Control Panel of the printer in the "Field Menu Mode". Please refer to your printer-manual for more informations of the settings of the printer.

The SETUP-program is a DOS based program. You can use it in a DOS environment, in a DOS box of MS-Windows, and in a DOS-session of IBM OS/2 Warp. If you use the program in a DOS-session of IBM OS/2 Warp the "450L"-printer driver must be used as DEFAULT printer driver.

Please connect the printer PROdot 450L to the parallel interface port LPT1 of your computer.
