<< Installation for Windows(R) 95 and Windows(R) 98 >>

	When installing the Printer Driver by Plug & Play functions, 
	follow the steps below.

	For Windows 95:

	1. Connect interface cable to printer and computer, 
	   then power on printer.
	2. Start computer using Windows 95.
	3. Inset the CITIZEN 500 Printer Drivers for Windows 95, 98 and
	   Windows NT4 disk into Drive A(or B).

	When "New Hardware Found" dialog is displayed :
	4. Click "OK".
	5. Click "OK".
	6. Select "Yes" and click "Next".
	7. Click "Finish".

	When "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog is displayed :
	4. Click "Next".
	5. Click "Finish".
	6. Select "Yes" and click "Next".
	7. Click "Finish". 


	For Windows 98:

	1. Connect interface cable to printer and computer, 
	   then power on printer.
	2. Start computer using Windows 95.
	3. Inset the CITIZEN 500 Printer Drivers for Windows 95, 98 and
	   Windows NT4 disk into Drive A(or B).
	4. When "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog is displayed, click "Next".
	5. Select "Search for the best driver for your device.",
	   then click "Next".
	5. Select "Floppy disk drives", then click "Next".
	6. Click "Next".
	7. Select "Yes" and click "Next".
	8. Click "Finish". 


	If you cannot install the printer driver using Plug & Play,
        follow the steps below for installation.

        For Windows 95, Windows 98:

	1. Insert the CITIZEN 500 Printer Drivers for Windows 95, 98 and
	   Windows NT4 disk into Drive A(or B).
	2. Click the "Start" button, point to "Settings" and "Printers".
	3. Double click "Add Printer", and Click "Next".
	4. When the option "Local printer" or "Network printer" appears
	   select "Local printer" then "Next".
	5. Click "Have Disk...", then click "OK".
	6. Select "CITIZEN 500" and click "Next".
	7. Click "Next" to setup.
	8. Select "Yes" and click "Next".
	9. Click "Finish". 

<< Installation for Windows NT(R) 3.5x >>

	1. Start Windows NT 3.5x
	2. Double click the "Main" icon in the Program Manager to display 
	   the "Main" window.
	3. Double click the "Print Manager" icon to display the 
	   "Print Manager" window.
	4. Click "Printer" menu and "Create Printer ...".
	5. Enter the printer name (ex."CITIZEN 500") in the "Printer Name" Box.
	6. Click the "Driver" box, and "Other...".
	7. Insert the CITIZEN 500 Printer Drivers for Windows 95, 98 and
	   Windows NT4 disk into Drive A(or B).
	8. Type A:\nt35, then click "OK".
	9. Click "OK". 
	10. Click "OK".   
	11. Click "OK".   

<< Installation for Windows NT(R) 4.0 >>

	1. Insert the CITIZEN 500 Printer Drivers for Windows 95, 98 and
	   Windows NT4 disk into Drive A(or B).
	2. Click the "Start" button, point to "Settings" and "Printers".
	3. Double click "Add Printer".
	4. Click "Next".
	5. Select "LPT1:" by clicking on the check box.
	6. Click "Next".	
	7. Click "Have Disk...", then type A:\nt40 and click "OK".
	8. Select "CITIZEN 500" and click "Next".
	9. Click "Next" to setup.
	10. Select "Yes" and click "Next".
	11. Click "Finish".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
