Install procedures:

1)   Insert CNet CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your
     computer's Type II PC Card slot.

2)   Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector.

3)   Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 Media Coupler. 
     (Refer to the User's menu for exact instructions).

4)   Turn on the computer to run Windows 98.

5)  Windows 98 will prompt "CNet-CNF301 ..." in "Add New Hardware
    Wizard" dialog box, then click <NEXT> button.

6)  Select "Search for the best driver for your device" from "Add New Hardware 
    Wizard" dialog box, then click <NEXT> button.

7)   When "Install From Disk" window shows up, type "A:\WIN98" or "B:\WIN98"
     in the input drive and path box where the driver is stored.

8)   After the driver information shows up, select (highlight)
     the "CNet CNF301 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter" and click "OK".

9)   When "Insert disk" window shows up, push "OK" button and then choose
     a correct path to load *.dll files, i.e. D:\WIN98.

10)  After "System Setting Change" window shows up, the installation is done.
     Remove your installation disk, push "YES" to restart Windows 95,
     and the driver will function.

Note that the CNF301 supports 5 types connected modes,autosense, 100M FD, 100M HD,10M FD
and 10MHD respectively. After installing the driver, the mode can be changed manually.
Choose "Network" in the "Control panel ", select the "CNet CNF301 PCMCIA Ethernet Adaptper",
then choose "Advance."

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
