PC/TCP for OS/2 v1.2 pl 1
==========================

1)   Insert CNet's CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your
     computer's Type II PC Card slot.

2)   Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector.

3)   Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the
     Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions).

4)   Copy A:\NDIS2\OS2\CNF301.OS2 to C:\PCTCP\DRV
     (where "A:" is the drive this diskette is in)

5)   Add the following lines to the CONFIG.SYS file:
     DEVICE=C:\PCTCP\DRV\CNF301.OS2

     For example,
       DEVICE=C:\PCTCP\DRV\PROTMAN.OS2 /I:C:\PCTCP\DRV
       DEVICE=C:\PCTCP\DRV\CNF301.OS2
       DEVICE=C:\PCTCP\DRV\SOCKET.OS2


6)   Edit the C:\PCTCP\DRV\PROTOCOL.INI file:

     For example,

PC/TCP v2.2 for DOS Driver

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1)   Insert CNet's CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your
     computer's Type II PC Card slot.

2)   Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector.

3)   Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 or BNC connector on the
     Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions).

4)   Create a directory named LANMAN on the hard disk which consists of
     relevant files from the PCTCP diskette labeled "PC Network Software
     Unsupported Network Software Diskette A".

5)   Run INSTALL.EXE in the PCTCP directory.

6)   Choose the "NDIS Driver" item from the "Network Interface Card
     Driver Selection" window. Press F10.

7)   Input the driver pathname "\NDIS2\DOS\CNF301.DOS" for this diskette
     in the "Interface Driver" window.

8)   Key in the complete path and file name,"C:\LANMAN\PROTMAN.DOS".

9)   Enter the complete path and file name, "C:\LANMAN\NETBIND.EXE".

10)  Append the content of the CONFIG.INS file in the PCTCP directory to
     C:\CONFIG.SYS. Add one more option in the following statement.

     DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\PROTMAN.DOS  ------------------> Old Version
     DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANMAN  -----> New Version

11)  Make sure the sequence of command lines in the C:\CONFIG.SYS
     file is similar to the example below:
                  :           :         :
            [DEVICE=Socket Services command]
            [DEVICE=Card Services command]
            [DEVICE=resource manager]
                  :           :         :
            DEVICE=C:\COPEN\COPEN.EXE /IO=xxx /IRQ=yy
                  :           :         :
            DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\CNF301.DOS
                  :           :         :

19)  Copy the contents of the PCTCP\AEXECFTP.BAT file to AUTOEXEC.BAT

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
