PC-NFS Driver for PCNFS version 4.0
===================================

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1)   Insert CNet's CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your
     computer's Type II PC Card slot.

2)   Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector.

3)   Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the
     Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions).

4)   Prepare the "QuickNDIS with drivers for PC-NFS" diskette and insert
     it into the floppy diskette drive.

5)   Run the QUICKNDIS command.

6)   After the "NDIS Driver" menu appears, type "0" for the third
     party driver.

7)   Input "A:\NDIS2\DOS" when "Enter the device/path where the driver and
     corresponding .NIF and PROTOCOL.INI files can be found" is displayed.

8)   Confirm the "Model=CNet CNF301 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter."
     Is this correct? (Y/N)" With "Y" <enter>.

9)   Make sure the IRQ, I/O address, and driver name are correct.
      (Default values are 3, 0x300, and CNF301$.)
      'IOBASE=0x300' <enter> to accept
      'Interrupt=3' <enter>
      'DRIVERNAME = CNF301$' <enter>

10)  Please make sure the COPEN.EXE command line precedes the
     CNF301.DOS command in the C:\CONFIG.SYS file. Follow the
     sample below:

     [DEVICE=Card Services command]
     [DEVICE=resource manager]
            :         :        :
     DEVICE=C:\COPEN\COPEN.EXE /IO=xxx /IRQ=yy
            :         :        :
     DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\CNF301.DOS
            :         :        :


11)  Insert a "NETBIND" command line if not present in the
     C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Example: C:\LANMAN\NETBIND.

12)  When done, reboot the workstation. The network card driver will be
     loaded into memory.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
