**************************************************** * * * CNet CNF301 NDIS 2 Device Driver Installation * * * **************************************************** PathWorks for DOS Driver ======================== INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1) Insert CNet's CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your computer's Type II PC Card slot. 2) Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector. 3) Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions). 4) Run the "NETSETUP.EXE" program in the "Client Setup" diskette. 5) Choose the default value "Non-LK250 keyboard" as the keyboard type. 6) Select "DECNET" in the "Network Transport" screen. 7) Insert the "PWRKS V4.1 DNET TRNSPRT" diskette into the disk drive. 8) Assign a destination drive (default is C:). 9) The following are the values to input for the installation dialog. <1> Create an initial workstation diskette: "NO" <2> Input workstation node name and address. <3> Use asynchronous DECNET (ASYNC): "NO" <4> Use only DECNET DOS components: "NO" <5> Input server node name and address. <6> Append LK250 keyboard setup info to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file: "NO" <7> Select network adapter type: "ETHERNET" <8> Choose the "Other NDIS" item and input the NDIS driver path to be A:\ or B:\ plus "NDIS2\CNF301.DOS" <9> Input "A:\NDIS2\" to get the path of the PROTOCOL.INI file <10> Add the system service DOS subdirectory to the DOS search path: "NO" 10) In the CONFIG.SYS file, modify the statement "SHELL=C:\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS\ /P" to be "SHELL=C:\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS\ /P /E:319" . The value of the "/E" option should not be less than 319. 11) The PROTOCOL.INI file may need to be revised. Make sure the IRQ, NI_IRQ variable, is in agreement with the PC Card's IRQ. 17) Make sure the sequence of command lines in the C:\CONFIG.SYS file is similar to the example below: : : : [DEVICE=Socket Services command] [DEVICE=Card Services command] [DEVICE=resource manager] : : : DEVICE=C:\COPEN\COPEN.EXE /IO=xxx /IRQ=yy : : : DEVICE=C:\DECNET\CNF301.DOS : : :Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
