Microsoft LAN Manager 2.1 Driver for DOS
========================================

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1)   Insert CNet's CN301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your
     computer's Type II PC Card slot.

2)   Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector.

3)   Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the
     Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions).

4)   Insert this Setup Diskette into the floppy disk drive.

5)   Select "Other Driver" when invoking C:\LANMAN.DOS\SETUP.EXE
     to install the NDIS driver, and specify the drive in which
     this diskette is inserted.

6)   Check the PROTOCOL.INI file to make sure that the INTERRUPT
     and IOBASE agree with the settings on the LAN card.

     Note that IOBASE MUST be the same as that of the "/IO=" option (xxx)
     in the COPEN.EXE command. And the INTERRUPT value MUST be the same
     as that of the "/IRQ=" option (yy).

7)   Make sure the sequence of command lines in the C:\CONFIG.SYS
     file is similar to the example below:

LAN Manager for OS/2 Installation Guide
============================================

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1)   Insert CNet's CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your
     computer's Type II PC Card slot.

2)   Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector.

3)   Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 or BNC connector on the
     Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions).

4)   In the "Group Main" window, click the OS/2 "Full Screen" icon.
     The full screen shell prompt will appear.

5)   Change the hard disk directory from the root to subdirectory \LANMAN.

6)   Key in the SETUP command (SETUP.EXE) in the LANMAN subdirectory.

7)   In the "Configuration" menu, choose "Network Drivers". The "Workstation
     Configuration" window will appear.

8)   Click the "Add New Config" button.

9)   To select the driver for installation, click "Other Driver" in the
     "Network Adapter Drivers" field.

10)  Assign the drive, A: or B:, without path in "Copy Driver or Protocol
     Files" window. The "CNet CNF301 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter" driver will be
     copied to the hard disk. Then, click the "OK" button.

11)  In the "Network Protocols for CNet CNF301 PCMCIA Ethernet Adapter" window,
     set the network protocol to be Netbeui (or other desired protocol,
     such as TCP/IP) and click OK.

12)  Save the configuration and installation settings.

13)  Please make sure to add an extra statement in the CONFIG.SYS file
     before the statement for the CNF301.OS2 driver. The format of the
     statement sequence should be similar to the example below:

            DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\DRIVERS\Ethernet\CNF301\CNF301.OS2

14)  Reboot.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
