**************************************************** * * * CNet CNF301 NDIS 2 Device Driver Installation * * * **************************************************** Banyan VINES 4.10 Driver ======================== INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1) Insert CNet's CNF301 PC Card Ethernet adapter into your computer's Type II PC Card slot. 2) Connect the Media Coupler to the adapter's 15-pin connector. 3) Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the Media Coupler. (Refer to the User's Manual for exact instructions). 4) Copy the CNF301.DOS driver to the VINES directory that contains the file BAN.EXE. 5) Create a LANMAN subdirectory under the root, and copy the PROTOCOL.INI file to this directory. 6) Add the following three lines to your CONFIG.SYS file: (The COPEN.EXE MUST be in front of CNF301.DOS command. If the COPEN.EXE command line is already in C:\CONFIG.SYS, move that here.) DEVICE=C:\COPEN\COPEN.EXE /IO=xxx /IRQ=yy DEVICE=<VINES directory>\PROTMAN.DOS DEVICE=<VINES directory>\CNF301.DOS 7) Check the PROTOCOL.INI file to ensure: - the IOBASE value must be the same as that of the "/IO=" option (xxx) in the COPEN.EXE command, AND - the INTERRUPT value MUST be the same as that of the "/IRQ=" option (yy) in the command. 8) Run PCCONFIG and configure the NDIS Ethernet driver. Enter the interrupt level and fill in the Section Name "CNF301_NIF" in the "BINDINGS =" field. 9) Make sure the sequence of command lines in the C:\CONFIG.SYS file is in the correct order, like the sample below: : : : [DEVICE=Socket Services command] [DEVICE=Card Services command] [DEVICE=resource manager] : : : DEVICE=C:\COPEN\COPEN.EXE /IO=xxx /IRQ=yy : : : DEVICE=<VINES directory>\CNF301.DOS : : :Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
