Quick Installation
==================

   Install Apache ISA Bus INTERNAL modem with Windows NT 4.0

        
Setting Apache INTERNAL Modem ISA bus with Windows NT .  

Factory Recommnded to use COM Port 2 IRQ 3.

1.  Shut down your computer.

2.  Open your computer case.  Change  the modem dip switches to 
    4 and 6 on , set for COM 2 and IRQ 3. Insert the 
    "Apache Modem" into your ISA 16 bit slot.

3.  Turn on your PC. Hit the Delete key on your keyboard.  Go to 
    Chipset Feature or Integrated Peripherals option.   Disable 
    onboard serial port 2, Irq 3 on your motherboard CMOS set up.  
    See Apache manual for more details.

4.  Boot up to windows NT, press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time to 
    get into your windows.  Click on Start, Setting..., Control 
    Panel. Double click on Port.  Add COM port 2 , IRQ 3. 9600 bps.

5.  Reboot your windows.

6.  Boot up to windows NT press Ctrl+Alt+Del at the same time to get 
    into your windows.  Click on Start, Setting..., Control Panel.  
    double click on the Modems Icon.  Let windows detect your modem.  
    Windows will find your modem as a Standard Modem.  Click Change , 
    Have Disk, insert your Mega Connect CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.  
    Browse to D:\A56SP-RA. Load "APACHE MODEMS DRIVER".  
                              

7.  Go to Control Panel, double click on the Network Icon.  Click on 
    Services tab.  Add RAS.  Click Add, select Remote Access Service 
    and click OK.  Ras Device found "Com 2 - Apache MODEM DRIVER ..", 
    click OK.

8.  Remote Access setup.  Click Configure... select your Port Usage and
    click OK.

9.  Click on Network.  Network Configuration:

Click OK.  Click Continue..., OK, and Close.  You must shut down and 
restart your computer.


Note:

For Dial up Networking some ISP'S require you to load their script
file for NT.  The Script file is provide by your ISP
(Internet Service Provider).

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
