This driver can be used with EDIROL DA-2496 with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 and Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Me.

Installation (Windows Me)
=========================
* If you have already installed the old driver, please follow the instructions in "Uninstallation" below. 

1. Start up your computer.
2. The DA-PCI will be detected automatically, and the "Add New Hardware Wizard" will appear. 
3. Check "Specify the location of the driver," and click "Next." 
4. Check "Find the best driver for currently used device" and "Specifiy search location." Then click "Browse." 
5. Choose "WinMe_98_Drv" folder of this extracted archive.
6. Click "Next."
7.Installation will begin. 
8. When the dialog box indicates "Edirol DA-PCI: Windows has finished installing the new hardware device," click "Finish."
9. Restart Windows.
10. Follow the instruction in Owner's Manual for "Audio/MIDI input and output settings".

Installation (Windows 98)
=========================
* If you have already installed the old driver, please follow the instructions in "Uninstallation" below.

1. Start up your computer.
2. The DA-PCI will be detected automatically, and the "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. 
3. Check "Display of the list known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver," and then click "Next."
4. Specify the location of the driver data file. Choose "WinMe_98_Drv" folder of this extracted archive.
5. Click "Next."
6.Installation will begin. 
7. When the dialog box indicates "Edirol DA-PCI: Windows has finished installing the new hardware device," click "Finish."
8. Restart Windows.
9. Follow the instruction in Owner's Manual for "Audio/MIDI input and output settings".

Uninstallation
==============
1. Start up your computer.
2. Exit all applications before performing the uninstallation.
3. Delete the driver.
   3-1. Open the "Control Panel," and double-click "System."
    * If the above icon cannot be found, click the "view all Control Panel options." in "Control Panel."
   3-2. Click the "Device Manager" tab.
   3-3. Double-click "Sound, video and game controllers" to see the list of devices.
   3-4. From the list, select "EDIROL DA-PCI" and click "Remove."
   3-5. A "Confirm Device Removal" dialog box will appear. Make sure that "EDIROL DA-PCI" is shown in the dialog box, and click the "OK" button.
   3-6. In "System Properties," click "Close."

   * If you cannot delete the driver completely, restart from "Safe Mode" of Windows, and follow the instructions above relating to  "Uninstallation." Then, follow the instructions from Step 5. 

5. Execute "DAPCIUninstaller.exe"
6. Click the "Uninstall DA-PCI Drivers" button.
7. Exit Windows.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
