(For GSIF support you will require Nemesys Gigasampler (see additional notes)) Please note this driver is not intended to support GSIF under Windows 2000 or XP ---------------------------------------------------------------- (3) Install Follow these steps to update the driver. I) Displaying the file 1. Select the Windows [View] menu, then [Folder Options]. The Option window opens. 2. Select [View tab]. 3. Check the [View all files] checkbox. 4. To install ASIO Audio driver If you are currently using ASIO driver version 2.0 or higher, new driver should be installed after deleting version 2.0 from [Add/Remove programs] in the Control Panel. 1. Click the [Asio Setup.exe] and follow the guide. 2. Launch the audio software which supports ASIO, 3. [ASIO SW+DS 32],[ASIO SW+DS 16] appears in the ASIO device menu. The Version number appears in the ASIO Control Panel This driver allows to adjust Audio buffer size by clicking the "ASIO control Panel button" in [Audio system], when the "ASIO SW+DS 32" is selected as audio I/O. Notes: Decreasing Audio buffer size will improve latency, however may cause noise problem depending on the PC environment. In that case, increase audio buffer. Using the multiclient Gigasampler driver and the ASIO driver The Gigasampler driver is automatically installed when you update your existing driver VXD and DLL files with this driver set. There is no special installation routine required for GSIF support other than this. If you use the Gigasampler driver with the SW1000XG, you can use the ASIO driver with the DS2416 as well if you so wish (or vice-versa) To achieve stable playback with the lowest latency value, we recommend the setting of 44.1kHz/stereo 16 or 32-bit. (The format options vary depending on the application you are using with Gigasampler.) Latency values for multichannel use of sub 30ms are now supported in this driver when used with GigaSampler. If you are currently using Gigasampler with the Direct X driver, please update to this driver and use the native GSIF support rather than Direct X support. General notes This driver is not designed for operation under Windows 2000 or XP This driver supports GSIF 1.7 and GSIF 1.6 protocols, and will work with all versions of Gigasampler after version 1.6. * You can use MME and GSIF exclusively for each channel if running multiple applications. In any Direct X application you should not try to assign channels which you are using for GSIF. * You can use ASIO and GSIF exclusively for each board if you have 2 cards installed (DS & SW for example), and the cards are not connected (internally using the serial interface connecter). * With the SW1000XG, You can use 16 or 32 bit data at 44.1kHz. * With the DS2416, You can use 16 or 32 bit data at 44.1 and 48kHz. You have to set the same FS to GigaStudio/GigaSampler and YMIX (or your source sample clock reference setup in the applicable DS2416 application). If you set a different FS between them, the output of DS2416 will be muted, and the card will not play. (FS = Sample Frequency) Limitations * While you use Gigasampler, you will not be able to open control software for DS2416 (Cubase, Logic or C-Console etc). You will have to open them before GigaStudio/GigaSampler is launched, then launch Gigasampler. * If you have only one SW or DS board, you can use ASIO and GSIF at the same time using the virtual ports only, please bear this in mind. The launch order for applications should be For example Cubase 1. Open Cubase. (or any main audio application) 2. Open GigaStudio/GigaSampler. Logic 1. Open DS2416 control soft (Patch/C_Console etc.) 1. Open Logic. 2. Open GigaStudio/GigaSampler. Please refer to your Gigasampler manual for setup with sequencers. * GigaStudio on slower machines is a very high CPU/HDD load application, so SW1000XG may not receive all MIDI messages perfectly. By decreasing the number of Polyphonic notes (on slower machines (for example Pentium 166-200) on GigaStudio, you should be able to ease the problem. Recommendation * Yamaha do still recommend that in the case of using with a DS2416 you run Gigasampler as stand alone product on a separate PC. In the case of the SW1000XG this condition does not apply. This is due to the larger number of wave ports, and potential increased system load due to the greater number of ports. ---------------------------------------------------------------- (4) File set version history File Set V4.0 First released version. ---------------------------------------------------------------- (5)Yamaha Pro Audio products home page The following Web page provides you with information regarding the DSP factory cards: URL= http://www.yamaha.co.jp/product/proaudio/ ---------------------------------------------------------------- * Microsoft and Windows are registered trademarks of the Microsoft Cor- poration, USA, both in the USA and in other countries. * Company names and product names etc. in README.TXT are registered trademarks or trademarks of their respective owners.
