Installing Audio Support
System Installation Requirements
HP OmniBook with Windows 98 installed. This can be verified by
looking at the system properties (Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/.)
Installation Procedure
Copy Files in this directory onto a 3.5 inch floppy, and then follow this
procedure:
1. Turn your OmniBook on, and start up Windows 98.
2. Insert the 3.5 inch floppy containing the Audio drivers into your A: drive.
3. From the Start Menu\Run prompt, type: A:\SETUP
4. When the Crystal diaglog box appears, click on Install Driver.
5. When prompted, Restart your computer. Be sure to remove the 3.5 inch
floppy before rebooting, but be sure to promptly replace it once the your
computer is up and running again.
6. Windows 98 will rebuild its information database upon re-starting and the
Add New Hardware Wizard will be launched. Choose Next.
7. Allow windows to search for the best driver and choose Next.
8. Windows will prompt you about where it should search for new drivers.
check the Floppy disk drive and choose Next.
9. Windows will find the Crystal Driver on the floppy, choose Next.
10. Choose Next when windows asks you to confirm the driver it's located and
then choose Finish when windows completes copying files.
Driver installation is now complete.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
