Updates and Fixes ********************************************************************* Section 1.0 Directory Layout \DOS\DRIVERS\ Directory containing a fully interrupt driven serial port driver for DOS. This driver is NOT required for this hardware product to operate. This driver is offered to allow OEMs and developers an efficient and cost effective serial software solution. Because this is a COM: port based serial card, this hardware product is compatible with many existing operating systems, applications, and development platforms. See file DRV.TXT \DOS\DIAG\ This directory contains several serial port diagnostic programs that may be useful if a problem occurs. See file DIAG.TXT \DOS\NOTES\ Information regarding installation and technical notes on COM: ports are found in this sub-directory. Notes are included on DOS, OS/2, Windows and Windows NT. \DOS\DIAG\UTIL\ Utility programs that may be needed if a conflict occurs. Information on the 16550 FIFO UART is also located in this directory. See file UTIL.TXT \DOS\PCMCIA\ Drivers and diagnostic programs for PCMCIA PC Cards are located in this directory. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
