Descrição desta versão
======================
O software Matrox PowerDesk inclui o driver e os utilitários de
vídeo. Com esse software, você pode tirar o máximo proveito dos
hardwares gráficos Matrox e pode acessar recursos adicionais
relacionados ao vídeo Matrox.
Instalação
==========
Para instalar o Matrox PowerDesk, inicie o programa de "instalação"
incluído com ele. Depois disso, siga as instruções na tela.
O programa de instalação instalará o software apenas se um modelo
de placa gráfica Matrox que tenha suporte do programa de instalação
estiver instalado no computador.

Observações, problemas e limitações

- Suporte ao DirectDraw, Direct3D e DirectVideo
O driver DirectDraw fornecido pela Matrox é compatível com o
DirectX 2 (ou superior) e inclui o suporte Direct3Dt. Para ativar
nosso driver DirectDraw/Direct3D e obter os benefícios de
aceleração de hardware, o Microsoft DirectX 2 (ou superior) DEVE
ser instalado, mesmo para programas originalmente criados para o
DirectX 1.
Além disso, se uma versão recente do DirectX não estiver
instalada, alguns recursos do Matrox PowerDesk talvez não estejam
disponíveis.
O DirectX é fornecido no CD-ROM da Matrox. A versão mais recente
do DirectX está disponível no Web site da Microsoft e contém
diversos programas DirectX.
IMPORTANTE: Se o programa de instalação DirectX solicitar
substituir os drivers de vídeo existentes, clique em "Não". Caso
contrário, o programa de instalação instala drivers de vídeo que
não estão otimizados como os drivers da Matrox e que não suportam
o software PowerDesk.
Observe que dependendo da origem do software Microsoft DirectX,
ele pode não incluir o suporte ao DirectVideo. Para execução
mais rápida dos arquivos Indeo e Cinepak AVI, será necessário
instalar o suporte do Microsoft DirectVideo.
- Barramento mestre Matrox
Este driver suporta barramento mestre. O barramento mestre é um
recurso que permite a expansão de placas para desempenhar tarefas
ao mesmo tempo na CPU do computador. Se você possuir um
computador Pentium rápido (mais rápido do que 166Mhz), o
desempenho de exibição da maioria dos programas é melhorado
quando o barramento mestre é utilizado.
Para utilizar o barramento mestre com programas em 3D
(Direct3D/OpenGL), a placa de vídeo precisa de uma IRQ. A maioria
dos computadores associa automaticamente uma IRQ para as placas
de vídeo, mas alguns não o fazem. Se a placa gráfica não for
associada a uma IRQ, os programas que utilizarem o barramento
mestre podem não funcionar adequadamente. Para obter mais
informações, consulte o manual do Matrox ou do sistema.
- DirectDraw e Automatic Power Management (Gerenciamento Automático
de Energia)
Conforme consta no "Microsoft DirectX Release Notes" de 30 de
setembro de 1995, um jogo DirectDraw pode não ser restaurado
corretamente se for suspenso pelos utilitários do Automatic Power
Management.
- Instalação em versões de outros idiomas do Windows
Se instalar o software em um idioma diferente do idioma do seu
sistema operacional (por exemplo, software em inglês em um
sistema em japonês), poderá ocorrer problemas com o texto e
controles da caixa de diálogo.Isto se deve às diferenças nas
fontes do sistema.
- Suporte a OpenGL

OpenGL support may be disabled with your Matrox display
driver. For a Matrox display driver with full OpenGL support
enabled, see the Matrox Web site (www.matrox.com/mga). (If

display driver. A display driver provided by the manufacturer
of your computer is more likely to be tested with your

- Usando o 3D Studio MAX 2.0, você pode ter problemas com um
visor sendo redesenhado de forma incorreta. Se isso ocorrer,

- DualHead Multi-Display mode under Windows 2000
If you have a DualHead-supporting graphics card and you apply
"DualHead Multi-Display" mode under Windows 2000, this version of
Windows treats the main and secondary displays of a DualHead-
supporting graphics card as a single display (which the Matrox
display driver divides between two monitors). As a result, these
displays always use the same resolution and color palette
settings. Also, in your Windows desktop, the virtual positions of
these displays are always aligned next to each other.
While in DualHead Multi-Display mode with a computer monitor as
your secondary display, you can't adjust your secondary monitor
with the Windows "Monitor" or the Matrox PowerDesk "Monitor
Settings" property sheets. If your secondary monitor supports
Plug-and-Play (DDC), PowerDesk automatically uses the correct
maximum display resolution and refresh rate. If your secondary
monitor doesn't support Plug-and-Play, make sure that the correct
settings are selected under "Max. secondary resolution" on the
Matrox PowerDesk "DualHead" property sheet.
- Video playback with DualHead modes
If you have a a DualHead supporting graphics card and you're
using DualHead Multi-Display, Clone, or Zoom mode, digital video
may appear as a solid color on your secondary display. This can
happen if video is played using the hardware-overlay feature of
your Matrox graphics card. Video played using the overlay feature
is generally of higher quality but it can be viewed only on your
main display.
Because only one program at a time can use the overlay feature,
any other program started while the overlay feature is used won't
be able to use the feature. The overlay feature will be available
to the first program to start after the program currently using
the overlay is closed.
For video that normally uses the hardware-overlay feature, you
may be able to view the digital video on your secondary display
by running another instance of the video player. For example, if
you're viewing a file using the overlay feature with Microsoft
Media Player, double-clicking on the file again starts another
instance of the Media Player. This instance properly plays video
on your secondary display. Then, you could close the first
instance of the Media Player and still be able to view video on
your secondary display.
- DualHead DVDMax with a TV
While viewing video with a TV using the "DualHead DVDMax"
feature, you may notice occasionnal jerky video playback (dropped
frames) after playing a video for a few minutes. If you view
video playback with your computer monitor, this problem shouldn't
occur.
- 15-bit color palette support for Windows 2000
For advanced users: By default, the 15-bit color palette is
unavailable for Windows 2000. If you need to use this color
palette, you can make it available by adding the
"User.Enable15Bpp" value to your Windows registry and then
setting this value to "1". If you're adding this value, add it
under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" > "SYSTEM" > "CurrentControlSet" >
"Services" > "mgau" or "g200" or "g400" > "Device0". The value
type is "REG_DWORD".

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
