SafeNet UPS Readme File

Setup Procedure
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Connect the UPS output to the computer input power socket.
3. Connect the communication cable between the UPS and computer.
4. Turn on the UPS.
5. Turn on the computer.
6. After the windows plug&play catch the UPS it will search the driver.
7. Put the SafeNet setup disk in floppy driver, say A:.
8. Select the search path to A: and press OK.

Thank you for your choice to adopt the SafeNet to manage your UPS and
computer, please read the following items before you using the program.

1. When power failed and the operating system countdown 0 the SafeNet
   program will close the existing application and give a temporary
   file name for a unsaved file.
   The SafeNet auto-save feature doesn't garantee to save all of the
   applications' files.
2. In backup mode(power failed) any trial to change the schedule would
   be ignored, that means you cannot change the schedule to reduce the 
   shutdown time when power failed.
3. The Shutdown OS Now item in the File menu will shutdown your operating 
   system only, the UPS is still active. If you want to shutdown the UPS
   at this time please turn off the UPS manually.
4. You should set the period between schedule shutdown and restart no
   longer than 1 week.
5. If the files cannot copy to your hard disk when using the PnP function.
   Please copy the files to C:\SafeNet directory manually.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
