  Thanks for choosing the EtherFast 10/100 PC Card from Linksys.  Before
  attempting to install the card, we highly recommend that you read
  the User Guide that came with your card in order to install both your
  PCMCIA socket & card services AND your network driver.


  Setup
  ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  The EtherFast Card is a plug-and-play with 10BaseT/100BaseTX auto-detect
  network adapter that is designed to be automatically detected by
  Windows 2000 as soon as you insert it into your computer.

  Before inserting your EtherFast 10/100 PC Card, please have the
  installation media for the Windows 2000 ready for any request for files.

 To begin the setup:

  1. With the system off, remove all PC Cards.

  2. Start up your computer.  After Windows 2000 is up and running,
     put the driver disk of PCMCIA Fast Ethernet into drive A:.

  3. Insert the EtherFast Card into PC Card slot.

  4. When the Found New Hardware Wizard window appears, click on the
     "Next" button.

  5. Select "Floppy disk drive" item and click the "Next" button.
     Windows 2000 will check the disk that is in the floppy drive
     for the PCMCIA Fast Ethernet Card network drivers.

  6. When the Linksys EtherFast 10/100 PC Card message appears on the
     "Driver File Search Results" screen, click the "Next" button.
     Windows 2000 will begin copying files.

  7. You may get a warning message said "Microsoft has not digitally signed
     the software you wanted to install. Do you want to continue the
     installation?". Click "Yes" to continue the installation.

  8. Click the "Finish" button.

  9. Restart the computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
