Press the Start button 2. Select "Programs". 3. Select "NCM2000/XP". 4. Select "ReadMe Notes". To print these ReadMe Notes after the NCM2000/XP Setup program is complete, perform steps 1 through 4 above and click on the "File" menu and select "Print". Quick Install Notes =================== This section describes installing NCM2000/XP on Windows 2000, XP or 2003. Note: Some NCM2000/XP hardware may include special install notes. Please read any special notes included in the NCM2000/XP package. 1. Install Windows from the scratch at the first installation. 2. Shut off the machine. 3. Install the NCM2000/XP hardware in the machine. 4. Connect and power on all NCM2000/XP station peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, base unit, etc). 5. Restart the machine. 6. On the first boot, Windows may automatically detect some new devices and may ask for driver files from the NCM2000/XP install disks. With some NCM2000/XP hardware, Windows won't detect new devices until after the NCM2000/XP software is installed. 7. Once any hardware drivers are installed, log in as Administrator, run the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs applet, and install the NCM2000/XP software from the install disks. 8. Restart the machine. On this boot, the NCM2000/XP station monitor should display a blue "NCM2000/XP" logo screen followed by a Windows login prompt a minute or two after the main monitor displays a login prompt. Warning! For SiS 305 PCI/AGP Vga cards, please install NCM2000/XP software first. If you do it in different order, the PC can hang at booting (even in Safe Mode). Also it is possible, that you could not run more than one add. SIS-PCI-card with modern intel-boards. Please consult the technical support of your reseller. The parallel ports will appear in the list of available ports when adding a new printer. Simply select ports LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, etc when installing the new printer. If shared, these NCM2000/XP station printers will also be available across the network. Note: the parallel port is a "Standard Parallel Port" (or SPP type) and is not bidirectional. Adding an NCM2000/XP station serial device ======================================= Some NCM2000/XP base station hardware include an extra serial port. Serial port #1 is reserved for the station mouse. Serial port #2 can be used by another serial device. The extra serial ports will appear in the list of available ports when adding a new serial device. Simply select ports COM5, COM6, COM7, etc when installing the new device. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
