PCI IO Windows 2000 Installation


This is an installation procedure for models with more than one port.  Windows comes with driver for models with one port.  
Models with more than one port are CyberParallel Dual, CyberSerial Dual, Cyber I/O, etc.

1) Shut down the system.  Insert the card into one of the available PCI slots.

2) Start the system.  Windows should detect the card as a Simple Communicationand start Found New Hardware Wizard.

3) Click Next to continue.

4) Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended) and click Next.

5) Select Specify a location, de-select the other options, and click Next.

8) Insert the disk, and type A:\win2K in the box, and click OK.

9) Click Next and Finish to complete driver installation.




To Update the Driver (Card Already Installed in the System)


1) Go My Computer, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager.

2) Double-click on PCI...Card under Multifunction adapters, that has a yellow exclamation mark.

3) Click Reinstall Driver.

4) Windows starts Upgrade Device Driver Wizard.

5) Click Next to continue.

6) Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended) and click Next.

7) Select Specify a location, de-select the other options, and click Next.

8) Insert the disk, and type A:\win2K in the box, and click OK.

9) Click Finish and Close to complete driver update.



Verify for Sucessful Installation


1) Go My Computer, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager.

2) Click on the + (plus sign) in front of Multifunction adapters.

3) You should have SIIG...PCI Board listed.

4)  Click on the + (plus sign) in front of Ports (Com & LPT).

5) You should have two or more Cyber... ports listed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
