A. Windows 3.1 Installation
To unpack and copy drivers to where they should resides,
please follow the following procedures:
1.      Boot up Windows using standard VGA mode.
2.      Insert "Daytona Display Utility Disk " into drive A or drive B.
3.      In Windows Program Manager Screen,
        choose "File" item.
4.      In "File Item List",
        choose "Run" item.
5.      In "Run" Screen,
        key-in "a:\setup" or "b:\setup".
6.      Follows the directions appeared on the screen to complete the unpack &
        copy procedures.
7.      After unpack & copy complete,
        a "Daytona Display Utility" program group would be created and shown on
        screen.

B. Windows 95 Installation
Installation
1.   Boot up Windows 95
2.   In windows 95 "Booted" Screen., select "Start" item.
     select "Start" item.
3.   In "Start" Screen,
     select "Settings" item.
4.   In "Settings" Screen,
     select "Control Panel" item.
5.   In "Control Panel" Screen,
     select "Display" icon.
6.   In "Display Properties" Screen,
     select "Settings" item.
7.   In "Display Properties" Screen,
     select "Change Display Type" item.
8.   In "Change Display Type" Screen,
     select "Adapter type => Change" item.
9.   In "Select Device" Screen,
     select "Have Disk...." item.
10.  In "Install From Disk" Screen,
     select your driver source.
     e.g.  A:\WIN95
11.  In new "Select Device" Screen,
     "Trident 968x PCI" would appear and
     select "OK"
     Then Windows 95 would perform driver installation.
12.  After completing installation,
     Windows 95 would go back to "Change Display Type" Screen,
     select "Close" item.
13.  Windows 95 would go back to "Display Properties" Screen and you may select
     desired resolution by changing "Desktop area" pointer,
     desired color by changing "Color Palette" value, and
     desired font size by changing "Font size"
14.  After completing selection,
     choose "Apply" to complete the whole installation.
15.  Then Windows 95 would ask
     "Do you want to restart Windows ?"
     Choose "Restart" to make your selection active and you may work at your
     selection mode.

1.0     Introduction

This Accelerate Driver runs on the following products:

     Trident 93xx/94xx/96xx, VESA or PCI local bus adapter

The Graphics Device Drivers supplied here are for the Microsoft
Windows NT operating system version 4.0.

1/2/4MB -  Supported on 1, 2 or 4 Megabyte Trident  products

(1)     -  1600x1200x256 is supported on 2MB products w.o/acceleration,
           4MB is required to accelerate this resolution.
(2)     -  1600x1200x64k is supported on 4MB products w.o/acceleration,
           currently it can not be accelerated due to memory limitation.

NOTE:   1. 9440/9470 and 9320 only support 16 million colors at 640x480
           without acceleration. Neither do they support 1600x1200 modes.
        2. All 16 colors modes are supported via Microsoft's VGA driver
           without acceleration.
        3. 9400/9420 do not have accelerator, all display are handled
           DIB engine.

3.0     Installation Notes for Windows NT

This driver package containing:

  - TGIUL40.SYS         (Trident linear addressing video miniport driver)
  - TGIUL40.DLL         (Trident 256/64K/16M colors accelerated video display  driver)
  - VGA.DLL             (Microsoft VGA 16 colors video display driver)
  - OEMSETUP.INF        (setup files used by Windows NT Setup program)


Procedure to install drivers:

1.  Open Windows NT 4.0.

2.  Click the START button (lower left hand corner of the screen).

3.  Click on SETTINGS.

4.  Click on CONTROL PANEL.

5.  Double click on the DISPLAY icon.

6.  Click the SETTINGS tab.

7.  Click DISPLAY TYPE.

8.  Click the CHANGE button under ADAPTER TYPE.

9.  Click the button HAVE DISK.

10. Type the path to where the drivers are located (example A:\).

11. Click OK.

12. You will see one driver listed "Trident Video Accelerator" .  Click OK
    to select it.

13. Click YES to continue.

14. Click OK to continue.

15. Click the CLOSE buttons.

16. Click YES when prompted to restart NT 4.0.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
