Introduction ------------------------------------------------------ This product is a utility program for Memory Cards used with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Windows 2000 and Windows 98 (afterwards called Windows). When using a Canon BJ printer with a card slot, this product manages files on the inserted Memory Card for Windows programs. 2. Product Contents -------------------------------------------------- This product includes the following components. Installer (Setup.exe) This program installs the Canon Memory Card Utility in your computer. USB Memory Card Driver Windows uses the driver to read and write data on the Memory Card in the card slot of the BJ printer (Windows Me and Windows 98 only). Memory Card Startup Utility This utility program detects insertion of a Memory Card into the card slot of the BJ printer, and starts applications automatically. And this program also ejects a Memory Card from the card slot, displays the contents of the Memory Card and starts the USB Memory Card Settings. USB Memory Card Settings Sets the read/write (read-only) attribute of the BJ printer card slot. Readme (readme.txt) This file. It provides important information about the Canon Memory Card Utility. When you finish installation, select [Start]-[Program] -[Memory Card Utility]-[Readme] to display the contents of this file. 3. Precautionary Information ----------------------------------------- Before installing the Memory Card Utility, read the following precautionary information: - If you use Windows 2000, log on as the member of the Administrators group in advance. - Terminate all currently running programs. - If an old version of the Memory Card Utility has already been installed, uninstall it first. 2. Installing the Memory Card Utility ------------------------------ To install the Memory Card Utility from the CD-ROM, proceed to (1). To install the downloaded Memory Card Utility, proceed to (2). (1) Installing from the CD-ROM 1. Start Windows and set the CD-ROM. The installer will start automatically. 2. If the [Software License Agreement] dialogue box is displayed, read its contents. If you agree to the terms of the license, click [Yes]. 3. Click [Other Driver]. 4. Make sure that [Memory Card Utility] is checked, and click [Install]. 5. When the message appears indicating that installation has finished, click [OK]. 6. Click [Exit]. Note: - After clicking, a message may prompt you to reboot the computer, depending on your system environment. To complete installation properly, it is recommended that you reboot the computer. (2) Using the Installer 1. Open the folder containing the installer. 2. Double-click [Setup.exe]. The installer starts. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Note: - When finished, a message may prompt you to reboot the computer, depending on your system environment. To complete installation properly, it is recommended that you reboot the computer. - Install the Memory Card Utility from the CD-ROM or local hard disk, not from a network directly. 3. Uninstalling the Memory Card Utility --------------------------- In the [Control Panel], click [Add/Remove Programs] and select [Memory Card Utility]. For more information, refer to "To remove a program from your computer" in the "Windows Help". ====================================================================== Restriction on Use of Memory Card Utility ====================================================================== The following restrictions are placed on the use of this product. Pay attention to these restrictions before use. Some of the features of this product may not operate properly when multiple supported BJ printers are connected to the computer. Avoid connecting multiple BJ printers to the computer. In the following cases, it may take several seconds to recognize the removable drive. Wait a while without ejecting the Memory Card or disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the printer. - When a Memory Card is inserted while the Viewer is connected. - When the BJ printer is connected to the computer during direct printing. Some applications installed on the computer may not be displayed in [Application to start when a card is inserted] within the [Select an application] dialogue box. In this case, click [Other] and select the application directly. If another memory card utility has been installed before you attempt to install this product, the previously installed memory card utility will be uninstalled. Install this version again after the memory card utility has been uninstalled.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
