Riva128/ZX Software installation

Following are the procedures to install the RIVA 128XZ AGP VGA driver for window 95/NT

 1. Install VGA Driver and Utility for Windows 95

Insert the CD-ROM disk in your drive, run D:\RIVAZX\WIN95\SETUP.EXE 
(This example assumes your CD-ROM drive is drive "D")
Select each item to install drivers into your system and follow the setup procedure to 
complete the installation.
If you are using Windows 95 (build 4.00.950), after restart 
Windows, it will ask you where to find the file "Nv3tweak.hlp";
Input "D:\RIVAZX\WIN95" and click OK to continue.

To supports the entire AGP functions and gets utmost performance, we suggest using 
the Windows95 OSR2.1 platform or later version.

 2. Install VGA Driver and Utility for Windows NT4.0 (NT3.51)

This chapter provides the Windows NT4.0 drivers installation procedures. Following the 
procedure until you complete the installation.

Before install the AGP VGA driver; please make sure you have installed Windows NT 4.0 
Service Pack version 3.0.
Otherwise, the system will be hanging up during restart your computer.

To get this driver: You can download form the web-site.

1. Start the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, switch display properties to VGA mode
 (640*480 16 colors) then restart your computer to make the change.

2. Select the Display icon in control panel and click the setting tad.

3. Select Change Display Type button from the Adapter type section then click Change.
4. Click Have Disk.

5. Insert the CD-ROM disk into your CD-ROM drive.

6. Microsoft Windows NT4.0 will prompt you for the correct path where the VGA drivers 
   are located. Enter the path "D\RIVAZX\NT40(or\NT351 for WINDOWS NT 3.51)(where D is 
   the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.)

7. If the driver RIVA 128 is listed under the Display list, select the OK button to 
   continue.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
