Rename your Joystick.inf file under /WINDOWS/INF to Joystick.old (just to be safe). 2. Copy Joystick.inf (provided) into your /WINDOWS/INF directory. 3. Run "Add New Hardware" under "CONTROL PANEL". Select "No" to search. Click "Next. Under "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers" select "R&R Electronics EPIC Game Card". Click "Next" and "Finish". 4. Under "Control Panel" select "System". On the above tab click on "Device Manager". Click on "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers" , "R&R Electronics EPIC Card", "Resources". Make sure setting for port 20 and change if needed. 5. Double click on the "Joystick" icon. Select "Custom" on "Joystick 1". Select 4 axis 4 buttons. Click "O.K." INSTALLING FLIGHT LINK DRIVER ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Copy all files into your flight simulator directory. (i.e. c:\X-Plane 3.5) IF YOU WISH TO CREATE A SHORTCUT FOR THE FLIGHT LINK DRIVER: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Click the right mouse button when cursor is on the desktop. A small window will pop up. In this window there will be items such as "Arrange Icons", "Line Up Icons", "New" and "Properties" 2. Click on "New" and then on "Shortcut". A window pops up titled "Create Shortcut". 3. Click on the "Browse" button below the command line. 4. Locate your X-PLANE directory. In that directory are files named GSTICK.BAT & AV.BAT. Click on "AV.BAT" and select "Open". You will now see the Command Line containing something like this (c:\X-Plane 3.5\av.bat). Then click "Next". You can do the same with ROTOR.BAT if you have a Flight Link Collective and/or collective. 5. Next you are asked to select a name for the shortcut. Type in the desired name. (i.e. FLIGHT LINK XPlane 3.5) Then click "Next". 6. Select the desired icon. Then click "Finish". CALIBRATING ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Click on your new icon to enter X-Plane. 2. Exit X-Plane and select "Game Controller or Joysticks" under "CONTROL PANEL" 3. Run Window's Joystick Calibration Program (Note 1) NOTE 1: AV-B calibrate button is the red button on left side of yoke. AV-IFR is the black round button on top left side of yoke. G-Stick w/standard grip is the red top push button. G-Stick military style grip is the green push button. 5. When finished calibrating, click on your new "FLIGHT LINK X-Plane 3.5" icon. SETTING UP X-PLANE ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Once in X-Plane, click on "Settings" from the bar at the top of the screen. 2. Select "Set Flight Mode". Under "Nosewheel Steering" select "Pedals" (if you have them). 3. Under "Start with Default Radio Frequencies" select "Yes" (this is only if you are using a FLIGHT LINK Avionics Stack). Close window by clicking on the box marked "X" at the top right of window. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
