GENERAL SoftNET is a communication software providing easy connection to the Internet or private networks through GSM/GPRS/PSTN/ISDN modems like through a conventional LAN adapter. 2. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS. Before you install the SoftNET software you should install and configure the software for the modems that intended to be used with the SoftNET. If you install a modem after you have installed the SoftNET software you must disable and reenable the Local Area Connection that corresponds to the SoftNET Mobile Adapter to be able to use that new-installed modem with the SoftNET. IMPORTANT!!! If you are going to use SoftGSM or SoftGSM USB Modem with the SoftNET, you must upgrade your SoftGSM driver to version 1.0.0.7 or higher that you can get from www.softgsm.com. Close all applications using SoftGSM or SoftGSM USB Modem and run SoftGSM setup program. You MUST uninstall SoftNET Beta or RC previous to version 1.1.0000.0 before you install this version. Upgrading from the SoftNET Betas or RCs previous to version 1.1.00000.0 is not supported!!! You MUST install the SoftNET only on Windows 2000 and Windows XP Releases. You MUST log on to Windows 2000/XP with administrator permissions to successfully install the SoftNET. 3. QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE. 1. Install modem(s) on your computer, if not installed. Look at hardware installation guide for you modem if modem is not plug-n-play and is not installed automatically by Windows 2000/XP. 2. Insert SoftNET installation diskette or CD in your floppy disk or CD-ROM drive. 3. Push the "Start" button on the taskbar. 4. Select "Run..." and click the left mouse button. 5. In the "Open:" edit box of the Run dialog print X:\setup.exe where "X" is the drive letter of your floppy or CD-ROM drive. 6. Push the "OK" button and follow the SoftNET setup program instructions. 7. Reboot your computer, if suggested by setup program. 8. After successful SoftNET installation and eventual reboot, you must configure the SoftNET software and you might need to configure TCP/IP for the SoftNET Mobile Adapter if you need to change default settings. 4. INSTALLATION NOTES. To fix a bug in the Windows 2000 Dhcp Client implementation the SoftNET setup program for Windows 2000 suggests you to reboot your computer after installation is successfully completed.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
