----------------------------------------------------------

This document supplements the information in the Dynapro ET 3200
User's Reference. It contains the following sections:

	1. Installation Diskette
	2. How to Install/Upgrade the Touch Screen Software
	3. Concurrent Mouse and Touch Screen Operation
	4. Standard Touch Screen Graphics
	5. The Dynapro ET 3200 Backlight Saver
	6. Uninstalling the Touch Screen software

1. INSTALLATION DISKETTE
-------------------------

The Dynapro Touch Screen Driver Disk contains all the software you need
to use the touch screen on the Dynapro ET 3200 inside Windows 9x.
Included on this diskette are the touch screen driver, configuration
files, and configuration utilities. This file describes how to install
the touch screen driver and utilities on your computer, and how to import
and export the touch configuration.

2. HOW TO INSTALL THE TOUCH SCREEN SOFTWARE
--------------------------------------------

To install the software onto your Dynapro ET 3200 for the first
time, you must have Windows 9x running on the computer, and you must
have access to the unit's floppy disk drive. Follow these steps:

1. Insert the Dynapro Touch Screen Driver Disk into the floppy
    disk drive.

2. From the "Start" menu, select "Run". Enter the full path to the
installation utility in the "Open" field (e.g. A:\install).
You can use the "Browse" button to find the install utility.
    Choose OK to continue.

3. The "Dynapro Touch Screen Installation" window will appear and
the first dialog will display the following information:
driver version, touch screen configuration, target directory and
target folder. You must select the touch screen configuration which
matches your hardware from the drop-down list. If you select
"Custom", the current configuration, if any, is left unchanged.
Select "Next" to proceed with the installation.

4. The next dialog shows the communication port settings that will be
used by the touch screen controller. You will again not be able to
change any of this information. Select "Next" to proceed with the
    installation.

5. The last dialog will display all the entered installation information.
If you are satisfied with your choices, select "Install" to start the
installation. All installation steps will be displayed on the screen.

6. Once the installation program has finished installing the driver,
you must restart Windows 9x to apply all the changes.

4. CONCURRENT MOUSE AND TOUCH SCREEN OPERATION
-----------------------------------------------

The Windows 9x Touch Screen driver supports concurrent mouse and touch
screen operation. To facilitate this, you must make sure that an
appropriate driver is installed for your mouse. The recommended way for
doing this is via the "Add New Hardware" Wizard in the Control Panel.
With your mouse plugged into the unit, have the Wizard detect new
hardware for you by selecting "Yes" at the prompt on the first screen.
Do not select "No" and manually choose a mouse driver.

Once the Add New Hardware Wizard has detected your mouse and installed
the appropriate mouse driver, your mouse will work concurrently with
the touch screen.

If the Wizard fails to detect your mouse, then you may not use it
concurrently with the touch screen. You must use a mouse that is
detectable by Windows 9x, such as a Microsoft or Logitech mouse.

5. STANDARD TOUCH SCREEN GRAPHICS
----------------------------------

Included with the software on this diskette is the Touch Screen
Configuration Import/Export Utility TOUCHINI.EXE. When you install the
touch screen software, this utility is placed in the directory \TOUCH\W9x
on your Windows 9x drive. This utility allows you to configure the touch
screen driver by reading a file containing the configuration and writing
the configuration to the Windows 9x Registry, and to extract the touch
screen configuration from the Registry and write it to a file.

By using the TOUCHINI utility, you can easily generate a configuration file
that can be copied and imported to many Dynapro ET 3200 units
without requiring manual configuration for each unit.

Exporting:
---------

To export the current configuration from the Windows 9x Registry into a
file, execute the following command from a Windows 9x DOS command prompt:

	TOUCHINI /o

This creates a file called TOUCH.INI, which contains an ASCII representation
of the touch screen configuration. You can override the default filename
by specifying a file after the /o command line option (for example,
"TOUCHINI /oCONFIG.INI"). This file can later be used to import the same
configuration into your unit, as per the import instructions which follow.

Importing:
---------

Also included with the software on this diskette are default touch
screen configuration files. These files are placed in the \TOUCH\W9x
directory when the touch screen driver is installed. To import these
files into the registry, execute the following command from a Windows 9x
DOS command prompt:

	TOUCHINI /i[filename]

where [filename] is the name of the configuration file you have selected.
The new configuration will take effect the next time you restart Windows 9x.

The files installed are as follows:

3210SN.INI - For ET 3210 with 10.4" display, short NFI
3210LN.INI - For ET 3210 with 10.4" display, long NFI
3210SR.INI - For ET 3210 with 10.4" display, short resistive
3210LR.INI - For ET 3210 with 10.4" display, long resistive
    3250.INI - For ET 3250 with 15" display, NFI

These files define the TouchSurround buttons and also the Display area
characteristics. When you install/upgrade the software, you may choose
one of these files to import as part of the installation process, as
described in Step 3 of Section 2.

5. THE DYNAPRO ET 3200 BACKLIGHT SAVER
---------------------------------------

The Dynapro ET 3200 Backlight Saver is automatically installed
when you install the touch screen driver. This application is invoked
by the touch screen driver each time Windows 9x starts up. The application
runs in the background, and is not visible to the user.

To configure the backlight saver, you must use the Configuration utility,
located in Start-->Programs-->Touch Screen Utilities. Consult the User's
Manual for details of its operation.

6. UNINSTALLING THE TOUCH SCREEN SOFTWARE
------------------------------------------

To uninstall the touchscreen software you can use utility placed on your
Touch Screen directory "\TOUCH\W9x".
From the "Start" menu, select "Run" and enter the full path to the
uninstallation utility (e.g. C:\TOUCH\W9x\UNINSTAL.EXE) and follow the
on-line instructions.
