LS220 has created this installation guide to help you play back DVD titles on your computer monitor using the LS220 PCI DVD board and your graphics card. The LS220 currently supports the following vga chips : S3 Trio64KV2 S3 Virge DX Cirrus Logic CL5446 Cirrus Logic CL5480 Cirrus Logic CL5465 ATI Rage II ATI Rage II+ ATI Rage Pro Nvidia Riva 128 Trident 795 3DLabs Permedia2 Please follow the step-by-step instructions below using the section that describes your graphics card. 2.0 INSTALLATION OF S3 Trio64V2/VirgeDX ------------------------------------------- 1. Insert the S3 PCI display adapter into target system. When prompted, insert the associated display driver diskette/s. Windows will ask for system shutdown. 2. When re-booted, install the S3 DirectX3 runtime components. Also install S3 VPM software. The system will ask to be restarted. 2. Upon shutdown, install PC-DVD board. Connect feature connector ribbon cable between the PC-DVD and display adapter - verify that Pin 1 of display adapter feature connector corresponds to Pin 1 of LS220 VMI VPORT connector. 3. Once Windows has started, install the LS220 Player Application Software. Re-boot machine when prompted by the LS220 setup program. NOTE : Optimal Video Quality is currently only obtainable under 256 color scheme 3.0 INSTALLATION OF CIRRUS LOGIC CL5446/CL5480/CL5465 ------------------------------------------------------ 1. Insert the Cirrus Logic PCI display adapter into target system. When prompted, insert the associated display driver diskette/s. Windows will ask for system shutdown. 2. Upon shutdown, install LS220 board. Connect feature connector ribbon cable between the LS220 and display adapter - verify that Pin 1 of display adapter feature connector corresponds to Pin 1 of LS220 VMI VPORT connector. 3. Once Windows has started, install the LS220 Player Application Software. Re-boot machine when prompted by the LS220 setup program. NOTE : Cirrus CL5465 only performs video overlay in 256 colors 4.0 INSTALLATION OF ATI Rage II/Rage II+/Rage PRO ------------------------------------------------ 1. Insert the ATI PCI display adapter into target system. When prompted, insert the associated display driver diskette/s. Windows will ask for system shutdown. When re-booted install the ATI VPM software. 2. Upon shutdown, install PC-DVD board. Connect feature connector ribbon cable between the LS220 and display adapter - verify that Pin 1 of display adapter feature connector corresponds to Pin 1 of LS220 VMI VPORT connector. 3. Once Windows has started, install the LS220 Player Application Software. Re-boot machine when prompted by the LS220 setup program. 5.0 INSTALLATION OF NVIDIA RIVA 128 ------------------------------------- 1. Insert the Nvidia PCI display adapter into target system. When prompted, insert the associated display driver diskette/s. Windows will ask for system shutdown. 2. Upon shutdown, install PC-DVD board. Connect feature connector ribbon cable between the LS220 and display adapter - verify that Pin 1 of display adapter feature connector corresponds to Pin 1 of LS220 VMI VPORT connector. 3. Once Windows has started, install the PC-DVD Player Application Software. Re-boot machine when prompted by the LS220 setup program. NOTE : 1. The Riva 128 requires Microsoft DirtectX5 Runtime Components to be installed on the system. 2. Video Overlay available only under 256 colors 6.0 INSTALLATION OF TRIDENT 975 -------------------------------- 1. Insert the Trident PCI display adapter into target system. When prompted, insert the associated display driver diskette/s. Windows will ask for system shutdown. 2. Upon shutdown, install PC-DVD board. Connect feature connector ribbon cable between the LS220 and display adapter - verify that Pin 1 of display adapter feature connector corresponds to Pin 1 of LS220 VMI VPORT connector. 3. Once Windows has started, install the LS220 Player Application Software. Re-boot machine when prompted by the LS220 setup program. 7.0 INSTALLATION OF 3DLabs Permedia2 -------------------------------- 1. Insert the 3DLabs Permedia2 PCI display adapter into target system. When prompted, insert the associated display driver diskette/s. Windows will ask for system shutdown. 2. Upon shutdown, install LS220 board. Connect feature connector ribbon cable between the LS220 and display adapter - verify that Pin 1 of display adapter feature connector corresponds to Pin 1 of LS220 VMI VPORT connector. 3. Once Windows has started, install the LS220 Player Application Software. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
