Patch for Cirrus Logic PCMCIA Controller 

SYMPTOM:
The PCMCIA can be recognised and enabled by EIGERSC.EXE or 
third party PCMCIA Enabler.  But Network Driver fails to
initialise due to RAM Failure, or once logged on, network
connection is unreliable.

This is due to timing problem with a particular revision of
the Cirrus Logic PCMCIA Controller inside certain notebook PCs.

Notebooks might be affected by this problem: PANASONIC CF-41,
TI 4000M, NEC 2000.

SOLUTION:
CIRRPTCH.COM can be used to correct the timing problem exist
in certain Cirrus Logic PCMCIA Controller.

1.  Copy A:\PATCH\CIRRPTCH.COM onto Drive C:
2.  Add CIRRPTCH.COM to your AUTOEXEC.BAT.
3.  Reboot your PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
