EigerNet PCMCIA Driver for Microsoft Windows NT Last revision: July 4, 1996 This document helps you to install and configure the driver for your EigerNet PCMCIA adapter in the Microsoft Windows NT operating system version 4.x. Setup ======== Do the following steps to install the driver: a. Open the Control Panel/Network. b. Click on "Adapters" button. c. Click on "Add..." button. d. When the list of adapters appears, click on "Have disk..." button. e. Insert the Drivers diskette, enter the path "A:\WINNT" and click on "OK" button. f. When the Network adapter list dialog box will appear, click on "OK" button. g. A dialog box will appear to configure the driver for your system. Set the following items: - I/O port base (the default value is 0x300); - Interrupt level IRQ (the default value is 10); - Memory base address (the default value is 0xD0000); - The PCMCIA slot where the Fast Ethernet adapter is inserted. (the default is auto detection); - When "Disable direct enabler" checkbox is checked, the driver will use the Windows NT system PCMCIA support instead of the internal enabler. Click on "OK" button. h. When the Network dialog box will appear, click on "Close" button. i. Windows will finish the PCMCIA setup and will prompt you to reboot. Reboot your computer. Installation is now complete. ! IMPORTANT ! PCMCIA cards should always be inserted BEFORE you start the Windows NT and should NOT be removed while the Windows NT is running. Troubleshooting ================== If the EigerNet PCMCIA Adapter does not work properly: - Use the "Event Viewer" application to find the earliest message that identifies the problem. - Make sure that the adapter is properly configured. A resource conflict is the most likely reason for the trouble. To view or change the adapter configuration do the following: - Open the Control Panel/Network; - Select the EigerNet PCMCIA adapter from the Installed Adapter Cards list; - Click on "Properties..." button. - If the EigerNet PCMCIA Adapter does not work properly with other PCMCIA cards, then open the adapter configuration dialog and specify the slot where the EigerNet PCMCIA adapter is inserted. - Contact our Technical Support. < End of document >Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
