    A. Windows 98 Installation - All devices
       -----------------------   -----------

1. Connect the device (Frisby) to your PC as 
   described in the User's Manual
2. When the new hardware is detected by Windows, choose:
   "Disk provided by hardware manufacturer".
3. When prompted to do so, insert the USB Drivers diskette in the 
   floppy drive.
   If you downloaded fusb56107.ZIP from the Web, direct Windows towards
   the directory where you extracted the files from the ZIP archive.
4. Click Next to continue, and follow instructions on screen.

When Installation is complete, your new drive should show up under 
"My Computer", with it's own drive letter.

    B. Windows 2000 Installation - Waitec Frisby
       -------------------------   -------------

1. Connect the device (Frisby) to your PC as described
   in the User's Manual
2. If Windows doesn't detect the new hardware after a few seconds,
   just reboot the machine, leaving the device connected.
3. When the new hardware is detected by Windows, Windows will auto-
   matically install:
      USB Storage Adapter, 
      USB Mass Storage Device, 
      Drive-name USB Device, and 
      Drive-type,
   using standard ("generic") Windows 2000 drivers. 
4. In order to use properly your Waitec peripheral, Windows generic
   drivers must be upgraded to use specific drivers.
   Follow steps listed below to upgrade and complete installation:
   a/ Go to Control Panel, double click on System;
   b/ Select Hardware tab, click on Device Manager;
   c/ Double click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers;
   d/ Double click on USB Mass Storage device;
   e/ Click on Driver tab, click on Update Driver;
   f/ "Welcome to the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard" : click "Next";
   g/ "This Wizard  upgrades drivers for the following hardware 
       device: USB Mass Storage Device."
      "What do you want the Wizard to do ? "
      Select : "Search for a suitable driver for my device."
   h/ Click "Next".
   i/ "Where do you want Windows to search for the driver files ?"
      Check "Floppy disk drives" box, and uncheck all other boxes;
      Insert  floppy with drivers downloaded from the net (or direct 
      Windows towards the directory where ZIP archive was extracted); 
   j/ Then click "Next".
   k/ "Windows found a driver that is closer match for this device 
       than you current driver.  [...]", located on ISD200.INF.
      Click "Next".
   l/ To complete the Upgrade to USB Storage Adapter V2, click "Finish".
5. When installation is complete, reboot your computer, even if
   Windows doesn't ask for it explicitely.

When Installation is complete, your new drive should show up under 
"My Computer", with it's own drive letter.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
