Known bugs and shortcomings:

	- ActiveSync does not work on Windows 9x/ME.
	- Only one process at a time may use the Bluetooth stack, 
	  Point-to-multipoint functionality is not implemented.
	- Some legacy applications cannot see the virtual serial 
	  ports. 
	- File Transfer: Client sometimes fails to discover the 
	  server. 
	- File transfer: One cannot connect from both clients 
	  crosswise and doing file transfer reliably. 
	- Wizard: Configure Discoverable/Connectable mode and
	  Authentication/Encryption mode fails in
	  Local Configuration Wizard. This should be done in
	  BlueCard ControlPanel instead.

Quick Installation Guide:
===================================================================
1. If you already have the Bluetooth Card PC software installed on 
your PC, uninstall it by: 
	- Run Start Menu\Settings\Control Panel\Add/Remove 
	  Programs.
	- Select Anycom Bluetooth Card and click Add/Remove.
	- Select "Remove" in the uninstaller. You do not have to 
	  remove RedMon.
	- If you get an alert saying that some files cannot be 
	  removed, agree to restart the PC and remove them later.

Windows 2000
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1A. Install the driver (first time installation):
	- Login with administrator privileges.
	- Insert the Bluetooth PC card.
	- The "Found new hardware wizard" starts. Click "Next"
	- Choose "Search for a suitable driver for my device". 
	  Click next.
	- Select "CD-ROM drives". Click next.
	- Click next to install the driver.

1B. Upgrading old driver:
	- Login with administrator privileges.
	- Insert the Bluetooth PC Card.
	- Open Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/System, select 
	  Hardware tab.
	- Start "Device manager".
	- Expand the "Multifunction adapters" entry.
	- Click "Properties" of the "Anycom Bluetooth Card 
	  driver".
	- Select the "Driver" tab.
	- Click "Update driver".
	- The "Update device driver" wizard appears. Click "Next".
	- Choose "Search for a suitable driver for my device". 
	  Click next.
	- Select "CD-ROM Drives". Click next.
	- Click next to install the driver.

2. Install the PC-software by running the setup program on the CD.
	- Follow the instructions on each screen. 
	- Restart the PC after the installation process has 
	  completed.

Windows 98SE/ME
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1A. Install the driver (first time installation):
	- Insert the Bluetooth PC card.
	- The "Add new hardware wizard" starts.
	- Click "Next"
	- Choose "Search for the best driver for your device". 
	  Click next
	- Click "Next".
	- The driver will be found. Click "Next".
	- Click "Finish" to complete the installation.

1B. Upgrading old driver:
	- Insert the Bluetooth PC card.
	- Open Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/System, select 
	  "Device Manager" tab.
	- Expand the "Multifunction adapters" entry.
	- Click "Properties" of the "Anycom Bluetooth Card 
	  driver".
	- Select the "Driver" tab.
	- Click "Update driver".
	- The "Update device driver" wizard appears. Click "Next".
	- Select"Specify the location of the driver". Click Next.
	- Select "search for a better driver..."
	- Select "Specify a location" and browse to the
	  "Win98_2000" directory on the installation CD.
	- Install the driver found.
		
2. Install the PC-software by running the setup program on the CD.
	- Follow the instructions on each screen.	 
	- Restart the PC after the installation process has 
	  completed.

Windows NT 4.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1. If the Bluetooth Card is inserted - remove it.

2. Before you start the installation:
	- The driver default is to use IRQ 7 and I/O address 0x240 
	  to 0x280. 
	- First, check if the defaults will work. It can be changed 
	  afterwards.
	- Login with administrator privileges.
	- Open Start/Program/Administrative tools/Windows NT 
	  diagnostics. 
	- Click the "Resources" tab.
	- If IRQ level 7 is already used, find an alternative 
	  level. Make a note! 
	- Click the "I/O Port" button.
	- If I/O address 0x240 to 0x27F	is already used, find an 
	  alternative, at least 0x40 sized, free area. Make a note!
	  
3. Install the PC-software by running the setup program on the CD:
	- Follow the instructions on each screen.
	- At the end of installation when promted whether to 
	  restart the computer now or later, choose "later". 
	- Finish the installation.
	- Shut down the computer.
	- If no changes of IRQ or I/O address is needed according 
	  to step 2 above, insert the Bluetooth Card and start 
	  the computer.
	- If changes to IRQ and I/O is required, DO NOT insert the 
	  PC Card. Start the computer and continue with step 4.

4. Changing IRQ and/or I/O address:
	- If the default IRQ or I/O address was occupied, it must 
	  be modified.
	- Login with administrator privileges.
	- Open Start/settings/Control Panel/BlueCard. An error 
	  message occurs - it is OK that the card isn't inserted.
	- Change the IRQ and I/O address field to the values found 
	  during step 1. Click the "Set" button for the respective 
	  value.
	- Shut down the computer.
	- Insert the Bluetooth Card.
	- Start the computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
