1. Installation Instructions
----------------------------
* Install from Device Manager
The procedures below presumes that Win2000 have already been installed 
successfully and audio driver has never been installed in your computer system:

1. Click mouse right button on "My Computer" icon, then select "Hardware" tab
2. Click "Device Manager" button.
3. Double click on the "PCI Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other Devices".
4. Click on "Reinstall" button.
5. The Hardware Install Wizard dialog box will appear. Follow the wizard's
  instructions and give the correct dirver path to wizard. 
  The Hardware Install Wizard will copy the necessary files and install 
  it to your hard drive. This completes the setup.

* Install from Setup Program in Windows 98/ME
1. Run Setup.exe
2. Setup program will prompt you to reboot system.
3. After system reboot, driver will be installed properly.

* Install from Setup Program in Windows 2000
1. Run Setup.exe
2. Setup program will install driver automatically. You don't have to reboot system.

2. Uninstallation Instructions

* Uninstall from Device Manager
1. Click mouse right button on "My Computer" icon, then select "Hardware" tab
2. Click "Device Manager" button.
3. Remove it.

* Uninstall from Control Panel
1. Run "Add and Remove Program" from Control Panel.

3. ALi Sound Setup Utility
--------------------------
* From Control Panel window, double chick on the "ALi Sound Setup" applet
  icon to launch this program.

* MIDI Configuration
- Click on the "Sample" tab.
- "Sample Set" and "Sample Rate": select to determine a wavetable for ALi MIDI device.
- Press [OK] button and restart Windows to make these settings take effect
  on the next Windows session.
NOTES:
- These MIDI settings are meaningful only when system uses ALi Wavetable MIDI 
  device. To use ALi Wavetable MIDI device, execute Multimedia applet
  in Control Panel window, then from the MIDI tab, select "ALi Wavetable MIDI" 
  as the MIDI output device, in stead of "Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth".
- The alternative of Sample Set settings, 1MB, 4MB, or 8MB, represents the size of
  various ALi wavetable sample files. The larger wavetable sample file can provide
  better quality of MIDI sound, and consume more system resources (CPU computing
  and memory usage).
  Or user can select DLS option to use the GM.dls sample file provided by Microsoft.

* CODEC Power Saving Configuration
- "Power Management" tab
- "Enable Power Management" checkbox:
	to enable or disable CODEC power saving function
- "Always"/"Only in battery power mode" combobox:
	to select the active time of CODEC power saving function
- "Turn off CODEC power after (when no sound is played)" combobox:
	to set the idle time to automatically power down CODEC (PR0:ADC, PR1:DAC)
- "Enable External Amplifier Power Down":
	to further power down CODEC (PR2:Mixer, PR7:EAPD)
- [Apply] button: to apply the new settings,
- [OK] button: to apply the the new settings and exit program

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
