This update loads BIOS version: 1.07 1/11/00

Before proceeding with the BIOS Update, use the following steps
to create a system bootable disk:

(1). Open My Computer
(2). Locate the 3 1/2 Floppy (A:) drive.
(3). Using the "Right" mouse button, click once.
(4). Using the "Left" mouse button, select FORMAT.
(5). Select "Copy System Files Only" and press START.
(6). Run this patch program to unzip the update onto this floppy.

This update creates a BIOS Flash Utility Floppy for the following

Installation Method:
--------------------
1. Restart the computer with this floppy disk in the A: drive.
2. Press Y at the prompt to proceed with the installation.
3. When a message box appears indicating the Flash Memory has
   been successfully programmed, remove the disk from the A: drive
   and restart the computer.
4. During the boot process, the following message will be displayed:

     0251: System CMOS checksum bad - Default configuration used
     Press <F1> to Setup, <F2> to Resume

5. Press F1 to enter SETUP
6. Press F5 to reset BIOS defaults.
7. Press F10 to exit SETUP saving your changes.
8. Press ENTER to confirm the save.

   video display when using the on-board AGP controller.

1. Fixed a problem where a CMOS checksum error would be displayed after a 
   PHLASH update if a Riptide audio card was installed.

1. Added a feature to allow the user to select the TV output format in setup.
2. Updated the nVidia Riva TnT video BIOS (v2.04.22).
3. Added Intel CPU microcode updates (MU165040, MU165140, MU16522A, MU16530A,
   MU16720B, and MU167307).

1.04: 07/30/99
1. Added a feature to hide the TV output setup item if the motherboard does 
   not support TV output.
2. Added a feature that will display a POST error message if the CPU fan is 
   not running or is running too slowly.
3. Fixed a problem where a static electric charge on the USB bus would cause 
   a USB keyboard and mouse to hang while running legacy USB.
4. Fixed a problem where if more than 512MB of memory is installed on a 
   system with a Pentium III CPU, the system will not cache memory above 
   512MB and the an OS (such as Windows 98) may run slowly.
5. Fixed a problem where installing a 256MB SDRAM would show a size of 0MB 
   in setup for that memory bank.
6. Fixed a problem where a 533MHz CPU would be detected as a 550MHz CPU.

1.05: 08/23/99
1. Added a new nVidia video BIOS (v2.04.24).
2. Removed CPU fan detection feature.
3. Added CPU microcode updates for Coppermine A0 (mu168014) and 
   A2 (mu168101) CPUs.
4. Added CPU microcode updates for Katmai B0 (mu1670C) and 
   C0 (mu16730A) CPUs.
5. Added CPU microcode updates for Deschutes B0 (mu16522A) and 
   B1 (mu165310) CPUs.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
