BY INSTALLING THE PRINTER DRIVER FOR BUBBLE-JET PRINTER, YOU ARE DEEMED TO AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT. This legal document is a license agreement between you and Canon Inc.("Canon"). BY INSTALLING THE PRINTER DRIVER FOR BUBBLE-JET PRINTER (THE "SOFTWARE"), YOU ARE DEEMED TO AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AND PROMPTLY RETURN THE CANON DISK TO THE PLACE WHERE YOU OBTAINED IT FOR A REFUND BEFORE THEY ARE USED. In consideration of the right to use the SOFTWARE, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. 1. GRANT OF LICENSE: Canon grants you the personal,non-exclusive right to use the SOFTWARE only on a single computer. You may physically transfer the SOFTWARE from one computer to another provided that the SOFTWARE is used on only one computer at any time. You may not install or use the SOFTWARE on a network, multiple CPU, multiple site arrangement, or any other hardware configuration where the SOFTWARE is accessible to more than one CPU or to more than one user. You shall not assign, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, loan, convey or transfer to any third party, or send or bring the SOFTWARE out of the country where you originally obtain it to other countries without required authorization of applicable governments, or copy, duplicate, translate or convert to another programming language the SOFTWARE or accompanying documentation, except as expressly provided herein. You shall not alter, modify, disassemble, decompile or otherwise reverse engineer the SOFTWARE or accompanying documentation and you also shall not have any third party to do so. 2. BACK-UP COPY: You may make one copy of the SOFTWARE solely for a back-up purpose or copy the SOFTWARE onto the permanent storage device (e.g. a hard disk) of your computer and retain the original for a back-up purpose. Any other copying of the SOFTWARE is aviolation of this Agreement. You must reproduce and include the copyright notice on the back-up copy. 3. SUPPORT AND UPDATE: Canon, Canon's subsidiary, their distributor or dealer is not responsible for maintaining or helping you to use the SOFTWARE. No updates, fixes or support will be made available for the SOFTWARE. 4. LIMITED WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER OF INDEMNITY: Canon, Canon's subsidiary, their distributor or dealer will not guarantee uninterrupted service, or absence or correction of errors. Therefore, the SOFTWARE is licensed on an "AS IS" basis without warranty of any kind. The disk on which the SOFTWARE is recorded is warranted against defective material or workmanship under normal use for a period of ninety (90) days from the date you purchased the same as evidenced by a receipt or otherwise. The limited warranty does not apply if the failure of the disk resulted from accident, abuse or misapplication of the SOFTWARE and shall not extend to anyone other than the original user of the SOFTWARE. CANON, CANON'S SUBSIDIARY, THEIR DISTRIBUTOR OR DEALER DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE OR ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION. NEITHER CANON, CANON'S SUBSIDIARY, THEIR DISTRIBUTOR NOR DEALER IS LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE INCLUDING CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL LOSS OR DAMAGE SUCH AS LOSS OF PROFITS, EXPENSE OR INCONVENIENCE, WHATSOEVER CAUSED BY OR ARISING OUT OF THE SOFTWARE, ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION OR THE USE THEREOF.CANON, CANON'S SUBSIDIARY, THEIR DISTRIBUTOR OR DEALER SHALL HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO INDEMNIFY YOU AGAINST ANY CLAIM OR SUIT BROUGHT BY A THIRD PARTY ALLEGING THAT THE SOFTWARE, ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION OR THE USE THEREOF INFRINGES ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF SUCH THIRD PARTY.THE ABOVE IS CANON'S ENTIRE LIABILITY AND YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE AND ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTATION. 5. TERM: This Agreement is effective upon installing the SOFTWARE and remains in effect until terminated. You may terminate this Agreement by destroying the SOFTWARE and any copy thereof. This Agreement will also terminate if you fail to comply with any of the terms of this Agreement. In addition to Canon enforcing their respective legal rights, you must then promptly destroy the SOFTWARE and any copy thereof. 6. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS NOTICE: The SOFTWARE is provided with RESTRICTED RIGHTS. Use, duplication or disclosure is subject to restrictions as set forth in either subparagraph (c) (1) (ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at DFARs 252.227-7013 or subparagraph (c) (1) and (2) of the Commercial Computer Software Restricted Rights Clause at FAR 52.227-19, as applicable. 7. SEVERABILITY: In the event that provision of this Agreement is declared or found to be illegal by any court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be null and void with respect to the jurisdiction of that court or tribunal and all the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. 8. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: BY INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, UNDERSTOOD IT, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ITS TERMS AND CONDITIONS. YOU ALSO AGREE THAT THIS AGREEMENT IS THE COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE STATEMENT OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND CANON CONCERNING THE SUBJECT MATTER HEREOF AND SUPERSEDES ALL PROPOSALS OR PRIOR AGREEMENTS, VERBAL OR WRITTEN, AND ANY OTHER COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN YOU AND CANON RELATING TO THE SUBJECT MATTER HEREOF. NO AMENDMENT TO THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE EFFECTIVE UNLESS SIGNED BY A DULY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF CANON. Introduction This product is the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95 Printer Driver for the Canon BJC-610/620. Customers using the Canon BJC-610/620 can use this product to produce beautiful printouts from various applications running under Windows 95. 2. Product Contents The following items are included in this product. * Microsoft Windows 95 Printer Driver for the Canon BJC-610/620. * A Readme file. (contains the contents of the User License, an explanation of the product, and some precautions regarding use. Please read it before using the product.) 3. System Requirements The Printer Driver for the Canon BJC-610/620 can be used with the following systems and environments. * Computer: Any computer capable of running Microsoft Windows 95 * Software: Microsoft Windows 95 * Printers: Canon Color Bubble Jet Printers BJC-610/620 4. Installation Procedure 1) Start Windows 95. 2) Choose Printers from the Settings on the Start menu. 3) Double-click the Add Printer icon. 4) The Add Printer Wizard is displayed. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the printer. * When selecting the printer model in the Printers list box, click on the Have Disk button and indicate the location of the drive containing the printer driver. * Depending on the usage environment, a screen that allows you to Keep existing driver or Replace existing driver may be displayed. To install the Canon driver, select Replace existing driver. 5) Click the Finish button and the required files will be copied and installation will be complete. Notes: * If multiple printers (drivers) have been installed, it will be necessary to set the printer (driver) to be used automatically for printing. Select the printer driver to be used from the Printers dialog box and check Set As Default on the Files menu. * Depending on the usage environment, the driver (provided by Microsoft) that is included with Windows 95 may have already been installed. However, we recommend that you use printer driver provided by Canon. For color printers, the printer name followed by "(MS)" is the one provided by Microsoft. ================================================================= About Printer Driver for Canon BJC-610/620 version 1.00 ================================================================= 1. Print Settings Normally, selection of the printer driver is carried out using the Printer Settings item under Page Setup in the File menu or the Properties dialog box under Print in the File menu in the application. However, to setup the printer driver without opening the application, follow the procedure below. 1) Select Printers from Settings on the Start menu. 2) In the Printers dialog box, double-click on the icon for the printer to be used. 3) Select Properties from the Printer menu. 4) In the Properties dialog box, click on the Main or Paper tab to display the basic settings sheet. 5) Please set the required printing functions. An explanation of each item can be displayed by clicking on the Help button. After the help is displayed, press the F1 key to display an explanation of how to use the help. 6) When you have finished your settings, click on the OK button. 2. Basic Printer Settings Sheets The following sheets are the basic printer settings sheets. For an explanation of each setting, see the help file. The help file can be opened by clicking on the Help button in each dialog box. After the help is displayed, press the F1 key to display an explanation of how to use the help. * Main sheet The Main sheet is used to select automatic settings using print modes for the specific type of printing. Press the Change... button to display the properties for the print mode. Here you can specify the print quality, color printing, and whether to save or delete the print mode. * Paper sheet The Paper sheet is used to set the paper size, print enlargement or reduction, print orientation, and color mode. By selecting Custom... from Paper Size, you can specify any desired paper size. 3. Precautionary Information * We recommend that the driver be used from applications that are Windows 95-compatible. * When setting the printer spool, please select Enable bi- directional support for this printer. Printing may not be carried out normally if Disable bi-directional support for this printer is selected. To select Enable bi-directional support for this printer, open the Spool Settings dialog box by clicking on the Spool Settings button on the Details sheet in the Properties dialog box. 4. Restrictions Related to Application Software * Microsoft Word Ver. 7.0 (Microsoft Corporation) If enlargement or reduction is specified when printing from Version 7.0 of Microsoft Word, the document may not print at the specified enlargement or reduction ratio. When enlargement or reduction is not specified or when printing is carried out after closing the Print dialog box by pressing Close, printing is carried out at the specified paper size. When carrying out any of the operations above, please start the program after first doing the following: select Printers from the Settings on the Start menu, right-click on the icon of the printer to be used, select Set As Default, and specify the paper size under Paper in the Properties dialog box. * CorelDRAW Ver. 7.0 (Corel Corporation) The printer may not print normally when the CorelDRAW Color Profile is used in Version 7.0 of CorelDRAW. If this happens, please set not to use the CorelDRAW Color Profile. To print without using the CorelDRAW Color Profile, open the Print dialog box from the CorelDRAW File menu and clear the Use Color Profile checkbox. * In some applications, when an enlargement or reduction ratio is set and the printer's Properties dialog box is closed, the enlargement or reduction ratio may have changed from the specified ratio if the Properties dialog box is opened again. The enlargement/reduction ratio is set with the ratio between the specified paper size and the printer paper size. In these cases, the document will print at the specified enlargement or reduction ratio if it is printed immediately after setting the ratio. * In some applications, depending on the data, part of the text or image to be printed cannot be printed at the default setting of "Text" Print Mode. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
